personal items not for resale hey you are a genius i wonder why noone else has thought of that before. Congrats. Let's hope stupid old hmrc continue to be oblivious to your wheeze...amataa said:
Well that could be argued yet again, these items are not initially for resale they are my personal items part of my huge collection of rare sneakers. If I have money due for a gym bill or phone bill etc I just sell the shoes for around 200-800 depending on how rare. Here I don’t have to hassle my parents and get them to pay for these essentials as it might just be to much when you have 8 kids ha ha2 -
Hard to cover up and hide electronic trails. Connecting dots is very easy. When you've a system called "Connect" that data mines information from a whole variety of sources. HMRC is far from stupid. More a question of people not being as clever as they imagine.Tildaplum said:

You state in a previous post that you buy a few pairs, so you can sell them to fund the pair you want. The buying of shoes to sell is a business, how you chose to spend the profits (on shoes) doesn’t mean it’s not a business. Buying something for your own use which you later sell isn’t business, the difference is intentamataa said:

take a look at https://www.gov.uk/working-for-yourself from what you’ve posted it looks like to me you trigger many of the points indicating your a trader0 -
Well done on avoiding dabbling in the illegal drugs trade by instead dabbling in illegal tax evasion.0

so it’s a choice between being a drug dealer or selling shoes ? Have you considered getting a part time job
good on for avoiding drugs, but I wouldn’t want to compare every step on the journey to getting a good job and future against an illegal career, you’d regret the latter soon enough1 -
I’m glad it’s not just me who sees that this is obviously a business
being under 18 or having an opinion that it isn’t a business won’t cut much ice with HMRC or the banks (or trading standards if they’re dodgy)1 -
Under 18 yet has a Starling Business account? Hmmmmmmm??1

To be fair there current account is over 16s, I guess risk of a business account isn’t that different. I guess a lot will come down to the nature of said business0
