Universal credit disappeared?

Hello! Im wondering if anyone would know the answer to this. Ive been claiming UC since September while im finishing an access course to get into paediatric nursing. This month, I didn't get a statement to say how much I'd be paid this month. I left a couple of messages on the work journal and got no response at all. Tried to call and it said the number is not recognised. Then I figured I'd just wait and see on pay day to see. Come pay day and I've not been paid at all. Was supposed to be on Friday and nothing. Has anyone else had this problem this month and who can I contact seeing as no one responds to notes. Feels like we've gone into lockdown and just been abandoned by UC. It's also worth nothing that i had nothing outstanding left to do, nothing to attend and nothing to confirm. Really lost!

If there is no statement on your UC account, this normally implies there is a task (todo) that needs to be completed before the statement can be generated. This could be a todo for you (customer) or for your Case Manager.
First up, check your todo list and make sure there are no outstanding todo's. If there are, complete them now. Also check your journal messages for the last month - were you asked for any information and you have not responded? Does the statement now show?
If not, post a journal message (Payments) to ask when you can expect to be paid.
I'm assuming your claim has not been closed?

  • Nothing of the sort at all and as far as I'm concerned, no closure either. Nothing in the to-do list, just nothing anywhere. I'm really stressed as my rent was due yesterday and my landlord is not in the least bit forgiving.

Hope i'm posting in the right place, but similiar situation, my son gets UC and PIP, he was due a PIP payment on friday, he didn't get it, and no notification it had been stopped,i think it is disgusting that peoples money is just stopped without warning,
He had filled a form in for reassessment but again had no warning that his payment would be stopped
According to the Government all ongoing payments like UC and PIP would be carried on
How are people supposed to live with no money coming in, and why say ongoing payments would carry on,and then just stopped with no warning
I know all this is bad timing, but surely it is recorded in the system who gets UC etc

Starting your own thread is always better. Posting on someone else's causes confusion because they answer mostly to the first post.

Has your son rang DWP about his PIP payment? If he hasn't then he will need to do that because no one here can tell you why he hasn't received payment.

Is that because he couldn’t get through or because the people he spoke to didn’t know the answer?
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Sorry late reply, he still hasn't got his pip, he was told he would have a new assessment by phone, but heard nothing yet,and worried about bills he can't pay
I thought usual payments were going to be carried on for now until there was more time because of new claims etc
Since this he has had a TIA  [MINI STROKE] WHICH ISN'T THE FIRST DUE TO ANXIETY, ALSO TROUBLE WITH EATING, CAN'T SWALLOW FOOD
    Sorry caps on by accident

As previously advised, payments should have continued because of Covid19. Did he ring DWP to ask?
