Post Office Broadband - Router performance

Thinking of switching to Post Office for my next I.S.P. My biggest gripe with my current provider (NOW broadband) is that the wifi strength from their router is woeful. Can anyone vouch for the wifi performance on the post office routers ?

Most routers supplied by ISPs are not the best.  You should be able to buy a more suitable setup yourself and use that instead.
  • I am thinking of going with the Post Office as well. Is it possible to use an old Sky Broadband router or does that present a lot of technical issues?

I've no idea but you might want to specify exactly which model of Sky router you have so others can advise appropriately.

  • I have the Sky SR101, and the SR102 routers.

PO Broadband supply a ZYXEL AMG1302-T11C if it helps.

  • I recently moved from Sky to the Post Office and I just switched out the Sky equipment and replaced it with the PO kit. I left Sky because of the terrible line connection (my broadband connection would drop whenever I used the land line at the same time) and since I've installed the new equipment I've had no problems.
    Hope this helps?

Thanks. Ultimately neither Shell nor Post Office broadband have great reviews for their routers. I am thinking of going with John Lewis as my Plusnet router is OK. Maybe it drops out occasionally but it hasn't been too bad. I haven't made a decision yet, but need to change provider soon.
