AVG scanning time

Thanks for the advice, yes I do have the free copy and as explained on here you can turn it off, (I have just done it);)

Guess what, I turned on the pc this am and avg automatically started!!!!!!!

mine scans every day at 2pm, dutring the week this is ok as im at work, at the weekends when im on the pc it can take up to 2 hours to scan however most of the time i cancel the scan as im pretty confident i wont have picked up any nastys since the last scan on a friday

Yes I followed the instructions yesterday, I go back in and have another look now,



It was ticked again, I have again unticked it hopefully it will be ok now

Not necessary to scan every day! Once a month is probably adequate for scanning every file on your system, as the resident shield is always active.
