Thanks esk, I do not intend to let this go, especially as they state that I can pay by credit card, but not letting anybody do it.
If they are stopping people paying by credit card, then I can only imagine they might be in some sort of trouble as they are a speciality cruise booking agent. I will call the cc company tomorrow.
  • Also be aware that if they tell you to get the credit card company to do a 'money transfer' (to your current account) and then for you to pay them with that money - that wouldn't be covered under S75.

Seems unlikely, but I know some people got stung by that before - and depending on how desperate the provider is for your booking, they could well suggest that if they're being that insistent that you can't pay by CC (but then you're insistent that you can, for obvious reasons!).

    Who is this company?
CC won't know if they are in trouble, and I doubt advise you what to do. (I know we won't)

    >>Please note that if you’ve booked last minute or the sailing is within 16 weeks of booking, you must pay all amounts up front.

    As you said about payment.

Yep and when you log in you there is no area for a credit or debit card payment.
Alas I did ask them to send me the reasoning behind committing the credit card payment facility so I could appeal to ABTA for their input and I got the following reply:
    Thank you for your email.
Please bear with me whilst I speak to the relevant team members regarding your query.
    Kind regards,
So hopefully I might be able to pay with credit card.

I'm also suprised that you are having to pay the balance for a cruise at the end of August so early on. We are booked on a Marella cruise on 4th September and don't have to pay the balance until 12th June.
We have a holiday - safari not cruise - booked end July/early Aug and we have to pay the balance this month. Annoying when it isn't likely to go ahead.
