Vigin Media - Changing the Account Holders Name

My husband and I have separated and I have stayed in our house. The existing Virgin Media we have is in his name and I need to change this over to mine. I can see how to do it on Virgin's website but I'm wondering whether I can benefit from one of their new deals as a new account holder. Would I get this by following their process to simply change it over or would it be better for my husband to cancel his account and I apply for a new one? I can't afford to have any downtime as I have 3 children at home doing school work and I am also working from home as a key worker. Any advice much appreciated!

You are hardly a "new" customer if you are simply choosing to change the account holder's name. If the account is still in a minimum term you won't be able to cancel without penalty in any case.Best course of action is probably the honest one...0
