Faulty phone purchased on gumtree

Hello I need some help regarding a 'brand new' iphone 11 I purchased on gumtree and where I stand.
The phone was brand new in its original packaging and sealed when I bought it, when I got home and opened it I discovered it had an issue with the pixels on the screen. It is the tiniest of pixels that is missing, but I Worry this may lead to further issues. I then discovered that the phone is refurbished - the network in question sell refurbished phones -
I have tried to contact the seller but he is not replying, I got the phone for £680 I realise it is worth a lot more. IT states that refurbished phones have a lifetime guarantee. If I were to send it back/contact EE would they deal with it or would I need the original owner. I know their name and address, how do you think I should go forward with this.

You will have to contact the seller he's the only one that can deal with it......Did you get a recite?
Was he a private or Business seller? was he advertising loads of different Phone's.
You have not bought it direct from EE so i don't think you would have much luck there. as for lifetime guarantee i have never heard of that on a refurb but i am not saying it's not true.
If it was ebay or Amazon you would have had a lot more protection but because you bought it off of gumtree i wouldn't think there is not much protection to be honest apart from the seller sorting it out.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -

Who replaced the screen? If it was not Apple then the phone warranty is void if it was replaced by Apple then they will repair.'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.
