UNLIMITED DATA IN THESE STRESSFUL TIMES

Just wondering if everyone else thinks the same, I understand VODAPHONE have given unlimited to over 500,000 customers who need care etc and SKY have given an extra 10GB of Data - I did contact Tescomobile (my provider) but they pointed me to their Virus update which only gives access free to a number of NHS and Government Websites. Wouldnt it be good in these very stressful times if providers either doubled the free data or gave unlimited to everyone at this time? Would be a great help to a lot of people I think especially when working from home or checking data ref the virus.

You can always change to a contract with unlimited data... had one myself for over a year.

You have unlimited data for exactly the purpose you have said is required - checking for information on the coronavirus, you have unlimited access with the official NHS 111 web site, what else do you want access to?
  • Virgin have given us 10gb extra. I totally wasn't expecting it but don't need it as were stuck in 90% of the time anyway.

If they gave everyone unlimited data it would slow everyone down as a small % would abused it and tied up a large part of the bandwidth.

who is out and about needing unlimited data in these times? most are stuck at home where we can use our normal wifi (hopefully that doesn't come crashing down through over use) in the meantime? just checking info on web sites uses very little data anyway. the big consumers of data is streaming video (you tube, films and live tv etc, and to a lesser degree streaming music).

So in answer to the OP, no, nobody appears to think the same as you.
