Hybrios are great. They hold there charge for months unlike "normal" Nimh batteries. Wilkinsons seems cheapest at moment - £7.99 last I looked including a standard charger for 4 AA's. Also sold in Asda and Maplins.

I bought a fast charger (charges 4 hybrios in about 3 hours) in Netto recently with 4 "normal" 2500 ma batteries for £6.99, the cheapest elsewhere seems about £12-15 (even ebay). Perhaps worth keeping an eye out if have a Netto near you.

Mind you, if you are in the north east they were £3 a pack of 4 on Stanley market recently - I stocked up!

What is the kit like from this 7dayshop place? I'm just looking at that own brand charger which has been posted, and I dont mean to be rude, but it looks like something you would get down the market, and not last 2 minutes.

If it's gucci kit at a bargin price, then I'll buy it..... just looking for a recommendation or two first ;)

Well I've been using their charger in the link above for about 3 years and it works very well. I have seen virtually identical chargers (without the 7dayshop logo) sold in Asda, made by Hama, which is I believe where they come from. e.g. here

See my post just above roddydogs, capacity is all very well but the camera/device will switch off anyway once the voltage drops below, say, 1.05v. What matters is for how large a part of it's capacity does the battery maintain that voltage. If the real number of pics you can take is about the same, then with 2000 mAh Eneloops you get the benefit that if you get your camera out of a cupboard 6 months after last use, it will work immediately. I will get Eneloops once my existing nimh's die, and maybe by then they will have 2500 mAh ones too.

Thanks, I think I'll give it a go then. I take it their own brand batteries are just as good then as well? :)

Personally I think that if roddydogs is having problems, it's due to either fake batteries from ebay, a rubbish charger (not microprocessor controlled, with “Delta-V” circuitry), or possibly a faulty camera. I have an Olympus that works fine even after being left on the shelf for months but I always take a spare set charged up when I use it.

Yes they appear to be genuine Fuji, but perhaps their not? any way of telling?

First of all, are they Fujifilm, or Fujicell, if they are the latter, then they are not from Fuji.

Secondly, even if they are Fujifilm, eBay is a notorious place for people selling fake items, may I politely suggest that you buy any future batteries from a reputable retailer, away from eBay.

I have rechargeable AAs from ebay, 2600 and 2800mAh. They work a treat. I guess it may be because I spent £35 on an Ansmann charger.

Scrimping on a battery isn't the end of the world as it has a "life". The charger needs to have a bit more spent on it.

You're not using an old ni-cad overnight charger are you?

A couple of indicators for your charger to show its OK. Does it have a discharge/conditioning cycle? As per prev post is it Delta V cut off controlled.
