I purchased a dining table for £816 from Lombok back in November 2019 with a delivery date in 14 weeks. 14 weeks pass and nothing so I contact Lombok and get told mid March. Mid March comes and nothing arrives so I again contact Lombok only to be told early April. Today I tried to go on their website and see that it’s down and also see an article that their in administration.

I’ve contacted their administrators today so I await their reply. I paid by a credit card so I presume I can claim my money back from my bank under section 75 if hear nothing. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks!

  • Hi,
I am writing to ask for advice on outstanding order with the company Lombok which has now gone into administration.

I have an outstanding delivery for a replacement bed, this was dua to replace a bed that was delivered damaged.
The company had agreed on delivering a new bed to replace the damaged bed but I was undergoing treatment for cancer at the time. I had asked them to keep it in their warehouse until I am ready to receive delivery.
Now that the company has gone into administration I am not sure what my rights are and if will be able to get my delivery?
Your advice would be very much appreciated.

    Many thanks

Simple chargeback to get a refund. Contact (have fun with that) bank/card provider to start process. No need for S75

  • I paid for a sofa by bank transfer. Does this mean I’m screwed? Presumably I won’t be able to use chargeback?

You will become a creditor of the firm, but how much if anything you will get in due course is anyone's guess

If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Is this the same situation for payments by credit card?
Been in touch with my bank and have been asked to complete a form and provide evidence to get the ball rolling.

With a credit card you may be able to claim a charge back

Credit & Debit cards have chargeback rights.
Bank transfer/Cheque is just like giving cash. No recourse via bank. You need to contact their administrators. Although they should be contacting you.
It is possible that you may still get the goods. As goods maybe ready for dispatch. Administrator would sort that out.

    Thanks for your response.

I think in this situation I’d like a refund. I’ve made purchases in the past with Lombok which have arrived damaged/ been damaged by the delivery company. Although it was sorted and benefited me, I don’t want to go through that hurdle again. Such a shame as Lombok have lovely furniture!
  • I'm in the same boat. Replacement dining chair was due, as was a dining table, bench and bedside cabinet. Quite a chunk of change spent on them. I would still prefer to get the furniture than start a chargeback. Will contact the administrators and see what they say.
  • Has anyone heard from the administrators?
