Isolating for 12 weeks and Working Tax Credits

My son is in receipt of WTC's for the disabled element. We have a different family member who has been told to shield/isolate for a minimum of 12 weeks and it would be potentially dangerous for my son to attend work as he is in the retail sector and would be "interacting" with members of his work team and the general public. This obviously puts him at risk of being in contact with this virus and transmitting it back home. He has been offered to take time off unpaid for 10 weeks and paid for 2 weeks. Would he still be eligible to receive his WTC in this instance?

If you are shielding, your employer can place you on furlough, and receive 80% of his wage.0

The person actually shielding can be furloughed or paid SSP.
However anybody in the same household who takes time off is not entitled to ANYTHING unless they self isolate due to covid symptoms in the house
The offer from the employer is fair.
Advice is at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-shielding-and-protecting-extremely-vulnerable-persons-from-covid-19/guidance-on-shielding-and-protecting-extremely-vulnerable-persons-from-covid-19#what-do-we-mean-by-extremely-vulnerable
I don't know the answer to WTC.1 -

I've provided the relevant links in other threads where you have stated no SSP.
Look at the amended SSP legislation at http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/287/contents/made
And the House of Commons Library article where the amendments are discussed in relation to 12 week isolation.

https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/social-policy/health/coronavirus-employment-rights-and-sick-pay/- SSP only refunded for 14 days, not 12 weeks
- people self-isolating entitled to SSP and cannot be furloughed but those shielding can be furloughed
