Section 75 - British Airways and 2 transactions

Hi all,

Annoyance here. As you may know, BA are being really awkward with giving refunds - they're trying to force everyone to take a credit note.

Problem is this; they made me and my wife book separately, because you can't book only 1 set of luggage. So I have a bill for £99 and another one for £71.

I'm guessing I can't claw either of these back under section 75?

s75 won't be applicable for items below £100 even if they're on the same booking, but you are entitled to a refund for cancelled flights, despite attempts by airlines to obfuscate or delay, so insist on this from BA:

As above, I would strongly pursue getting your money back as you are legally entitled to it no matter how hard they push the vouchers. If airlines go bust through this period (or reformed as new entities under the same brands), those vouchers will be worth nothing.

This is not a Section 75 issue.  As BA cancelled your flights you are entitled to a refund - not a credit note. Insist that they give you one.

You have 12 months to apply for  refund from BA so wait a while and maybe things will calm down

I'll sit it out and see what BA try to do.

You can't get through to them. They won't let you apply for a refund online - by phone only, and apparently they're doing everything not to give you on.
