ooh, sliced hearts. Sound good. I soak them whole in salty water, cut the flaps and some of the fat off then soak again. I stuff them with a really simple stuffing:
a handful or two of breadcrumbs (from the freezer) zest of half a lemon (the other half went for wedges with the bass last week), a pinch of herbs, a finely chopped banana shallot and an egg, plus S&P.
Stuff them so they look really plump and generous, and close the top with a skewer "stitch" or Mum used to sew them shut. Into a closed casserole with a little bit of vegetable oil, they cook for about two hours at about 350f then take the lid off, turn the heat down and baste them and back in, while the veg cooks. They need a thick gravy, and plenty of veg as they are strong tasting. I just pull the skewer out and serve them. I think soaking in salty water gentles down the flavour or they can be too strong tasting for some people, but the lemony herby stuffing helps too.

Was out all day today so decided to shove a gammon joint into the slow cooker with some onions and carrots. Will cook some mash and green veg to go with it. The stock will be used to make soup.

We moved last year @MissRikkiC so I feel for you managing the stress of that! Well worth it once it’s done though - nothing like being in a home you utterly love, is there!Farmers market for us today so some stuff has made its way into the freezer, however, I do have a plan to get it all onto the meal plan pretty rapidly. The final two burger buns made their way out today along with a couple of burgers from a previous farmer’s market purchase, and the last of a bag of oven chips too. My lunch also came from the freezer in the shape of a portion of the squash & coconut soup (with a couple of slices of sourdough - yum!)
I never had tried the stuffing is in the batter for a toad in the hole SL - might have to give that some thought!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

We didn't end up eating the SC gammon last night with mash and veg as having eaten out at lunchtime we only wanted a sandwich so we had a warm gammon & mustard sandwich - very nice it was too.
I'm going to roast the gammon today with a honey and mustard coating and roast some potatoes, carrots, onions, peppers and cook some green veg.
Plenty there to have cold either Monday or Tuesday with some chips and beans.
Going to add some lentils and veg to the stock in the SC to make soup. Should be enough to freeze some as well as having some for lunch tomorrow.

@Suffolk_lass & @joedenise - your Sunday roast chicken and slow cooker gammon sound like perfect autumnal weekend meals!
@MissRikkiC - I g00gled Tuscan fish stew and it looks lovely! I may have to put that into a future meal plan.
@EssexHebridean - we made a squash & coconut curry yesterday - it was lush! Actually used butternut squash but followed this recipe that came on a card with our veg box
Today we did a tray bake and used up some ancient yellow-sticker sausages that were lurking in the freezer - I'm glad to see the back of them but will make sure we have another pack of some sort of sausages in this week's bi-weekly grocery delivery. The tray bake produced two containers of extra veg mix which was the tastiest part of the recipe and I'd happily do that part without the sausages and serve it up with roast chicken or pork!
Last week we stuck more or less to our plan but not in the order that was on the list as we both were fighting off this year's nasty cold! One day we couldn't stomach more than soup, two days we relied on a fast food fix. The other 'real' meals were consumed Fri/Sat/today and leftovers will be appropriately packed up and stashed in the freezer. We skipped our food truck evening & Waitflower bargain hunt this week in favour of staying in! It really is the weather for being cozy.
This week our plan involves all the lovely veg from our box & items from the freezer:
Monday - Squash Risotto
Tuesday - Nonya white fish curry & rice with greens
Wednesday - Chicken, leek & mushroom pot pie
Thursday - Pork chops with leftover tray bake veg (or Canadian Food Truck 😋)
Friday - Homemade pizza & wedges
Saturday - Bao-zi, gyoza, noodles
Sunday - Pork roast & roasted root veg & roasties4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! DH is going to slice the rest of the SC gammon (there's enough for tonight's meal plus some for sandwiches or might even be enough for another meal - will find out which once it's sliced!). We'll have that with some air fried potato cubes and a Moroccan inspired carrot salad.

I love butternut squash in a curry! As always RT your meal plan sounds delicious!
I've got a couple of portions of soup out of the freezer for tonight, and we'll have it with the last of the sourdough loaf I bought at the farmer's market. That just leaves one final portion of the squash & coconut soup in the freezer, which I will most likely have next saturday. I do still have two of the small squashes - I think there is a decent chance they may get turned into a curry for Friday night, assuming I can roast them when MrEH makes rolls at some stage.
Yesterday's lunch was shepherd's pie made by chopping up a small cooked lamb breast from the freezer - not had that for ages and topped off with home grown tatties done to mid way between crushed and mashed it was very tasty indeed!

Hi all - lots of reverse meal planning coming up as I've been fortunate with collections from Ol!o this past few weeks.
Meal plan looks vaguely like this
Sunday - chicken shwarma served on giant naan breads with salad and couscous. (will make my own tzatziki to use up some natural yogurt)
Monday - creamy salmon pasta with samphire and green beans
Tuesday - gammon steaks, new potatoes, carrots & broccoli (Might do some roasted parsnips too)
Wednesday - Chicken & butternut squash curry & rice (will also make a veggie curry for the freezer)
Thursday - Out
Friday - Pie and Mash with veg
Saturday - Freezer tea (chicken/fish fingers with chips)
Sunday - either roast beef or pork
Need to work our way through the mound of bread products we received via Ol!o last weekend that I froze as it almost filled 3 drawers.
Lunches will be
Sunday - leftover hot dog sausages chopped and cooked with beans on toast
Monday - friday (kids at school (free lunch), I'll have leftovers or tin of soup, hubby similar
Saturday - scrambled egg & beans on toast
Sunday - something quick as I have an online meeting at 1pm
Breakfast will be hot cross buns, pancakes, toast (all ol!o) or cereal
