Olio goodies from the day before yesterday, avocado on cheesy chilli toast beckons for breakfast tomorrow; the blackberries and spuds have already been eaten ! The chicken in those awful sandwiches got repurposed into one decent sandwich and Mum and Dad enjoyed the doughnuts. Sorry but I can't get the picture any smaller.

That's a great Olio haul Fiona!
Turned out we had more sweet potatoes left than I thought, so there is still one left. Two got cut into chunks and cooked off with red pepper and mushrooms last night for going with couscous, and the protein was a coupe of hard boiled eggs each, plus the usual toasted seeds. I added some extra tomato and cucumber to mine as well and the last of the free jar of kimchi - something I will definitely be buying again, I really enjoyed it!
I'm going with fish finger flatbreads tonight as I need something nice and simply to throw together for two separate meals - MrEH has an event after work and will be home later than usual. Of course I forgot to get the flatbreads out of the freezer to defrost, but they'll be fine as long as I get them out straight away when I get home. We've a couple of sachets of tartare sauce kicking around which will get added in too, and lots of salad alongside.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

2nd freezer done and reorganised, I've mainly used it for things that I have prepared/cooked earlier both savoury and sweet. I like to keep a few weeks of ready cooked meals in the freezer as there has been occasions when one of us has been incapacitated due to accidents/illnesses etc DH is hopeless at cooking and and we have no family close by. Next one to tackle will be the chest freezer in a few days time.
Yesterday:- I batched cooked some venison, added mushrooms from the fridge, chestnuts from the freezer, LO red wine (LO red wine is a rather rare event). 2 portions used at teatime and 5 portions frozen. Pudding HM coffee icecream, I think the coffee ice-cream is one of my most favourite of the ones I make.
Today Lunch something to do with eggs, Tea:- probably vegetable quiche of some sort as I've some pastry, peppers and tomatoes in the fridge that need using.
Really fed up this morning. I had some dwarf beans in a polytunnel just about ready to pick but forgot to close the door last night. The deer have been in and eaten the lot, plus all the carrot and beetroot tops. Now I know why I don't grow much outside anymore.

You've inspired me to start thinking about another batch cooking session though - possibly not before I go away, but it is certainly something I should do when I get back. I too have some frozen chestnuts so may well incorporate those into the next batch of ragu.
Fish finger flatbreads with heaps of salad last night - very tasty indeed even if mine was a bit more crunchy than I had intended as I forgot the flatbread was in the toaster until it popped up! Doh!
I've got prawns out to defrost for tonight, and a couple of blobs of that wild garlic pesto too. That is definitely something I'd like to make more of next year - we took our eyes off the ball a bit back in the spring annoyingly. Last night's dinner an easy one from the stores. Chicken breast and sliced peppers from the freezer, ready to walk noodles and red onions from the storesand black bean sauce from the fridge. A quick and easy stir-fry that took less time to make than prep!
We also rustled up a pot of tuscan vegetable soup, and a courgette and onion quiche. Both were donated to feed the volunteers at the farm we get our veg box from. To be fair the eggs and corgettes were the farms contribution and the sofrito for the soup was from a previous veg box via our freezer. We also passed along some danish almond plait that was leftover from a work event yesterday! They will eat well today!
I have no clue what we are reverse planning for today's and tomorrow's food but it could possibly involve pork loin steaks, pork mince or turkey breast, all of which were lurking in 'not meat' drawers in the freezer. I think a clear out and inventory are well overdue!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Phew - just stopped for a sit down and maybe a bit of lunch. This morning, I did the chest freezer - it's so full you couldn't fit a gnat's breath in it. but at least its better organised and I didn't throw anything away
I've also been cooking one way or another making use of all the fridge stuff because next week I'm busy and I don't think I'll have time to turn around so I'm trying to get ahead of myself. I've used up the remainder of the mushrooms, tomatoes, some cooking bacon, made pastry - quiches. Double cream, strawberries from the plot, brown bread, condensed milk - 2 sorts of ice-cream. eggs form the chooks plus groundnut oil - mayonnaise to go with the rest of the salad things still lurking.
I still got some pork mince sitting on a shelf in the fridge and the last of the apricots from the tree so I think I'll do burgers for tea with the remaining salad.6 -
I have taken quite a lot of pre-made foods out thank goodness. Ate the ice cream I had in ther, do not usually have but just fancied and have noe order another flavour. Bought some puff pastry so will get some apple out to make turnovers - bet some will go back in when made.

Have more LO roast chicken from yesterday than I was expecting so as well as the planned sweet and sour for later in the week I'm going to make a Spanish rice for dinner tonight using up the last of the chorizo from the freezer.

I'm determined not to waste anything. We use very little milk but I always keep some in the freezer as a 'just in case' should anyone come, so currently there was just short of a pint in the fridge. Normally I'd use it in quiches or custard if it was still fresh but it had started to 'go over' so I made scones which were very acceptable with strawberries and cream after tea tonight.6

@zafiro1984 I wonder if you have tried bottling instead of freezing some of your fruit? I do it two ways - the traditional way with a light syrup over packed jars then pressure cooked or oven warmed so the lids seal, but I also pre-cook stewed fruit like apples, plums and so on and just put them in hot jam jars and wait for the tops to pop. The latter don't keep so long but much cheaper than running the five freezers we have.
Having bought meat last month I know my meticulously maintained chest freezer list needs updating (flap, flap, oink, oink!) - who am I kidding!?Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
