I've been using up some gifted cup-a-soups but using them as a sauce with macaroni pasta. 1 was potato and leek with plenty of pepper on board t'was delicious.

That,s a good idea. Wr have a packet of pea and mint powdered soups which might also work well!5

Some good use-ups going on there! We got back from the party we attended late afternoon and took advantage of slightly sad salad, eggs and homegrown new potatoes. Delicious!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I am so far behind on the forum. I seem to pick a couple of kilos of something or the other, every time I go outside and I seriously need to get out into my pigshed freezer of garden produce and have a thorough sort through and audit. It has filled up (well, it has filled up in a DH freezer packing way), and I cannot fit any more jars of stewed fruit on the designated shelf in the larder.
In the meantime we are inundated with beans and when I have made bread today (taking ages for the yeast to activate this morning), I am going to blanch and freeze more.
I intend making a runner bean pasta salad, with warm beans and pasta and a salad dressing this evening. Using free beans from the garden, dried instead of tinned butter beans, penne instead of conchiglie pasta, and a small onion instead of a shallot - I have the oil, lemon, fennel seeds, and can use a frond of fennel instead of dill. It all helps to keep the cost down a bit
Last night we had proper leftovers but I had to get an iceberg lettuce at the local Coop as the little gems had gone the brown slime side of usable.
So, four cold potatoes, 3 hard-boiled eggs, homegrown cucumber, tomatoes and onions, oh, and some leftover cold pasta bake, were all added to lettuce and shop coleslaw to make a tasty and extremely filling salad. Then we had some raspberries and strawberries I had stewed to save them, poured over shop bought ice-cream. That was too much. I am still full this morning!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

We have just returned from a 4 day jaunt to the Welsh border, and while we did our fair share of dining out, it was of the cheaper breakfast/brunch/lunch variety. Dinners consisted of the cook once, eat twice variety that we packed into our cooler along with some salad veg and fruit. Could have been spendier but wasn't...
Also returned home with extras from our meals out, so that is lunch sorted for today!
No meal plan was done for this week, but a freezer dive or two should yield dinners for the week, based on our loose themes of Fish on Tues, Chick on Wed, Mince on Thurs and Fakeaway Friday!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! We had a planned takeaway kebab last night after my cataract operation and we both had so much leftover we'll be having that for lunch - mine is chicken and salad, DH is having lamb doner meat and salad. I didn't have a pitta with mine but DH ate his with his kebab last night.
That means I still have half pack of bacon to use up so suspect that will now be tomorrow's lunch which will save me buying peppers today for the planned stuffed peppers! A definite win win!

I can safely say all meal planning here is revolving around processing garden produce and storing it for winter. To the exclusion of all else, so we had beans on toast for supper, followed by a huge bowl of raspberries and cream for dessert!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Have planned left over squash and chickpea traybake with tomatoes (from the garden) however DH moaned the other day when we had it that there was no meat so have lifted some chicken thighs from the freezer and will cook those to have with it - will cook the pack but only use half, the other half will get used some other time, possibly in wraps with lettuce, cucumber sticks and more tomatoes from the garden.5
