Just remind him of the biblical parable of the wise virgins who had stocked up their lamps with plenty of oil when the famine came !!!

Going to make a chicken and chorizo Spanish rice for dinner tonight using some of the LO roast chicken from yesterday, chorizo from freezer.

Beef stew out of the freezer for dinner tomorrow night.  Will have with some mash and probably some frozen green veg of some sort unless I pick up some cheap veg when I go shopping tomorrow!

Using up lots more veg in the fridge today, so todays lunch was a cheese and salad sandwich to use up the salad. Dinner was salmon stir fry with noodles and sweetcorn, purple broccoli, cabbage, carrots and mushrooms.

Got a stern telling off by my hub this weekend for having so much in the freezer (I assume multiple frozen bagged items fell out of the freezer and landed on his toe based on the swearing I heard from upstairs) so need to revise and replan based on that…
I feel his pain - we have an American style fridge / freezer.  The freezer part only has two drawers, the rest are shelves.  Which are only any good for square food of the same size, which I don't have a lot of.  Too much squeezed in and stuff that freezes into odd shapes is fine until you take it out and it doesn't fit back in.  Stuff regularly falls out and I can heard muttering "I hate this blinking freezer" or words to that effect.  It still works so I can't justify replacing it but the day it fails I will go and get a proper fridge freezer with usable freezer space!

Not much reverse meal planning here - OH had YS mini pork pies for lunch and I had soup and salad, then dinner was YS fish pie with YS Mediterranean veg for me and poached eggs on toast for OH.

Got a TGTG bag from Mr M yesterday as I was going to that town to get chicken feed - definitely the best one yet.  The only unusable item was some slimy corn on the cobs which the chickens will have.  Fruit baking potatoes, pomegranates, celery, onions etc, all still fine and worth the money.

We just bought ours and it’s exactly how toy describe. I love every other aspect of it and tempted to use baskets in there to prevent the fall out (literally!)

Treat papaya rather like a pear.  Have it chopped up with cereal, in a fruit salad or if it's on the firm side you can slice it thinly and serve in individual bowls of mixed shredded salad items which can include shredded white cabbage, carrots, nuts, sultanas, apples, dried apricots  and other items to make an interesting & filling healthy meal on its own.   I often make up a meal like this for myself when I'm eating solo.

Amazing. With cereal for me sounds great! and my daughter loves pears at the moment so I’ll try and pass it off as that 😇

  • I try to freeze things in bags laid flat. Then more fit into the freezer.
