Lots of using up today. Had some cream leftover from making a cheesecake, so made chocolate pots for pudding and defrosted some raspberries to have with it. Also had a mixed baby fruit pouch left over that DD is too old to have and is no longer keen. Turned it into sugar free muffins for her to have as puddings.

Lunch was the last of the leek and potato soup from the freezer. Dinner is the last of the big pile of veg I roasted on Friday and the leftover pizza sauce from Friday with chilli and pasta.

We have stuffed peppers for supper (made on Saturday) and I have made Birds Custard and combined some with cooked rhubarb for a rhubarb fool dessert this evening.

@MissRikkiC I have the meal plan in the fridge but DH still asks me what's for dinner most nights 😆

Dinner tonight is kimchi stew using up the dregs of my last batch of HM kimchi, along with a courgette that's rattling around in the fridge.

I’m sure he still will ask but at least this way I don’t have to think up something when he asks, I can instead say RTF(MP)

  • Morning all - we've had to reverse the reverse plan over the last few days thanks to getting an unexpected meeting (via Teams) thrown at us last night meaning we wouldn't have had time to do my planned meal. Switched to do pork stir fry again last night instead - with noodles this time. We've discovered that a tablespoon of gooseberry ketchup and a tablespoon of dark soy sauce makes the most amazing stir fry sauce.  Anyway that used up the last few spring onions, the last green pepper, some sprouts and some mushrooms and I chucked the last of a bag of rocket in there too just to finish it up.

Tonight is still on plan - the second half of the butternut squash and parsnip soup I made on Sunday (yes - last week's was so nice I made it again!) - and once again that will get topped off with chick peas and chorizo.

I'll have half a pot of cream that needs using once I've finished the soup for tonight - might defrost a tub of gooseberry puree from the freezer and make a fool - probably closer to the weekend for that though.

I've got mushrooms to use up so probably do mushroom and green lentil goulash tomorrow. I have an interview at lunchtime and I've joined a beginner's running club which is at 6.30 tomorrow evening so will try and find time tonight (after prepping for interview) to make ahead so I can eat early tomorrow.  That should make a couple of portions so probably one for the freezer as well.

Decided on pressure cooking the goat curry in the end.  It's already made and half has been bagged ready for freezing once it cools down enough.  Looking forward to the other half for dinner tonight.

Managed to Reserve 2 Magic Bags from 2 different branches of Morrisons so will be picking those up later; DH also Reserved a Costa one but he'll eat whatever is in that one as I don't eat the sort of things they sell!  Will definitely need to do a bit of reverse planning although have already decided on a toad in the hole for dinner tomorrow and sausages are in the fridge defrosting.
