Afternoon folks. Oh RR I'm so sorry the big op has been cancelled but at least you are not getting postponed altogether. Such a worry for you all. It would never have been a good time for you but tragic it has happened along side the CV.
A bit better news for Dp1's DGD, She deserves some luck on her side poor mite. And so glad the absent puss has turned up!
Well it's a semi hip hip hooray for TA!! No matter how I tried I couldn't shift the bed to clean behind it, much too big and heavy. But everything else got moved and cleaned under and behind. The window frames and window got cleaned and I even tackled my side of the wardrobe! When did I think I was going to wear all those boots, shoes and sandals?! In the charity bag they have gone. A few more clothes joined them. (The other side still contains all Bob's clothes, shoes etc and even now I can't bring myself to clear them out) I then tackled my summer stuff in back bedroom wardrobe. A few things turfed into a bag but daren't be too ruthless just yet! So I feel a bit chuffed with myself.
DS texted in the midst of the upheaval, they were going to Sainsbobs and had I list?! Er no cos I didn't expect him going until Friday! Never composed a list as quickly but I remembered everything except onions. I still have a couple so no immediate panic. He came back minus some things the shelves were bereft of but nothing vital. And he had made a couple of substitutions himself (oh dear I'll say no more about them!) anyway not complaining, I am just grateful as sm deliveries are impossible to get. We had a little chat down the front steps with his DP joining in through the car window when he dropped my stuff off.
NAN I am still wading through my gammon joint from Sunday too and, funnily enough, I was thinking of a cheese and ham omelette for tea! With salad and butternut squash wedges. What's left by tomorrow had better be sliced up and put in the freezer. I find they are the best sort of Sunday joint for me as so versatile afterwards and stretch a long way.
I am now going to get my feet up and try and concentrate on my book. Sometimes I find mind myself reading the same page over and over as my mind wanders to the worrying times we are in.
Have a good afternoon if you can folks xx

Hospital visit 1 accomplished successfully. On the way back we detoured past the local M & S to see the lay of the land. There was no queue to go in although they had someone on the door so I decided to chance it with Steve staying in the car. They had about 15 customers in, somebody sanitising the trolleys (although I took my own wipe as well and they were sanitising the self-serve tills after every customer and had closed the middle ones so you couldn't get close to anyone else. I felt quite secure and managed to stock up on a lot of fresh stuff. It then took me ages either taking stuff out of their packets or wiping them down with dettol wipes, hopefully all the precautions will pay off.
dp1, I'm so glad DGD hasn't got it.10 -
Afternoon all,
Another dry day here, we now have two workers from home.....DD1 and DS3......he and his fiancée were both working from home but as they both had conference calls all day, tempers were wearing thin......he is now using my computer room and adjoining bedroom.....nobody sees or hears him most of the day!
Today is my late father's 107th birthday, he died in 1994......would never have been able for the current situation. Still miss him if only for a decent argument!
I have a slight cough and DD1 thinks that I should self isolate.......don't feel I need to, will review later.....I get these every so often anyway..
Love to all

Gers I think they are not doing MOTs at the moment. I could be wrong but I believe TPTB are giving you 6 mths grace. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will come along or see Gov.UK mots for more info. HTH and may save you a clear out job.TA please be kind to yourself about Bob's stuff. Do it when you feel ready and only when you can clear his things out to a cs straight away. Unfortunately we had to bully Dad so that DD and myself could sort it after nearly 3 years, but at least it stopped him wearing her clothes. Yes you read that correctly, I found him wearing a pair of her trousers and her coat. Good grief you've been a busy little bee today. Any chance you could buzz over here and do mine ?
dp1 good news that your little DGD hasn't got the virus, that's one hurdle completed.MM hugs for missing your DDad. Hope the cough comes to nothing, but personally I would play it safe and isolate for a while. If I sneeze I don't know what to think and I haven't even been out for nearly 3 weeks ! Feel free to tell me to mind my own beeswax.Well the mask making was cut short for today...... too many chiefs around ! Well 1 chief, who was in the wrong and an Indian who was right !!
Guess which camp I was in ? Anyway the omelette was yummy and very filling.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -

HTH and may save you a clear out job. Thanks NAN - MOTs are still being done by the garages that are open AND there is an extension for six months too. Win, win. My garage is open for now, I rang them the other day for their advice. The bloke said to wait for another two weeks and then phone back, they had plenty of slots still. Of course that could change if the mechanics start to fall. The conference call confirmed 95 roles being furloughed and volunteers called for. I have offered myself up, I only do three days a month and there's no coach ed happening so my skills are not needed for the duration. My miniscule salary won't make much difference to the finances but I wanted to show willing. Somehow I'll get 80% of my pay still. There are others in much worse positions than me.I'm watching GB Menu in amazement about how good Michael O'Hara looks this year, he's lost a load of weight, it really suits him. Perhaps he could be my inspiration??
SNOOZER - well done! Misson accomplished.MARIE - oh no, I hope that the poorlies are better soon. There's a great app available to track symptomshttps://covid.joinzoe.com/ there's both Apple and Android versions on that link. It sends a text every day asking you to answer the questions. So far I've got as far as the second question 'do you have any symptoms' and my answer is 'no' - I assume if you say 'yes' it asks for more info. Worth having on your phone. It's been devised by King’s College London.5
