Updated 8th April on the Park site

We are now cancelling holidays booked to arrive before April 30th 2020. All holidays with a holiday start date from May 1st onwards will remain booked and we hope to welcome these guests as planned. Our team are working around the clock to help guests that were unable to take their holiday or were booked to arrive in the next few days. We are prioritising guest enquiries by arrival date so please bear with us during these challenging times. We promise to respond to you as soon as we possibly can.

There is the choice of either a full refund or an extra 20% off if you are happy to change dates.

Haven said they couldn't rebook for me in the school holidays, which is the main issue for us. Sun holidays have said contact Haven for a refund, Haven have said the newspaper operator would refund me....tricky.

Got an email from Haven yesterday.

When I chose the option of voucher- on the page there is a refund option as well. So I chose that. It did say it will take 35 days with Sun refunding the holiday cost and Haven doing the service charges. But haven't received any email confirmation. I did take a screenshot though.

"We are emailing you about your Haven break at Haven****** on 17/04/2020.

The Coronavirus situation is affecting the lives of each and every one of us. The safety and wellbeing of our readers is our number one priority, which is why we support Haven's decision to extend the temporary closure of their parks to Thursday 14 May 2020. We're sure you understand this is beyond our control, but we are sorry for the disappointment caused to you and your family. There are still many days of uncertainty ahead and as the travel industry faces one of its toughest challenges, we thank you for your continued support. Haven parks will be up and running again as soon as possible and the team look forward to welcoming you back.

As your break is cancelled we would like to know how you wish to proceed...

Haven would almost certainly have to originate the paperwork for a refund whether they pay it or pass the details on to the Sun as that's how the Sun would know you have not taken the option to rebook etc
  • Well i did manage to get through to Sun Holidays via their online chat & person i spoke to said that the Sun News would be making the refunds if booked through themselves & Haven would pass refund request to them but obviously this would take some time which seems fair given amount of refunds due . i would have re booked but would have worked out a lot more expensive
  • We booked a short break with the sun holidays which have been cancelled due to corona. They are refusing to refund and only allowing to rebook. Can they do this or are they legally obliged to refund?

I have the same problem, I keep being told by them that the T&C’s for The Sun Holidays state no refunds under any circumstances but the T&C’s I’ve seen do not say this, only say no refund if I cancel the holiday. I keep asking them where these T&C’s are but they keep ignoring this and send me the same no refund standard response. I also forwarded them an email from The Sun which states I can have a refund if the site informs The Sun of the cancellation, they ignore this too. So I’m stuck!
  • I have had 1 sun newspaper holiday cancelled so far during this pandemic. So far I have heard nothing from the sun paper and parkdean holidays keep changing the amount they are refunding and prolonging the refund each time they email. Other holiday makers are having similar issues with us all being told different stories. Is there any guarantee that the paper and all holiday parks will refund all money paid for any holidays cancelled due to covid 19? Thanks

  • I have to same problem. I paid for two upgrades to stay at a Haven site meaning my accommodation costs were £150. Haven have refunded me the entertainment passes and service charge but informed me that The Sun would have to refund the accommodation costs which is the bulk of the cost. I’ve looked on The Sun website (which just directs you to Haven). Their telephone number says they’re closed. The chat team inform you that you’ve come through to the wrong section and have to fill in an online form. I’ve filled this in and received no response. I was due to travel on the 31st March so would expect someone to have been in contact with me by now. I really can’t afford to lose £150 and need this money back. I paid on a credit card so would I be covered this way? They clearly have no intention of refusing despite their T&Cs stating that refunds can’t be access if you cancel, it doesn’t mention anything about park closures or park cancellations! I just don’t know what more to do?
