    What did the Accommodation Office say when you asked?
    Have you used the Search function for the multiple similar posts recently?
  • Hi
    They said that rent is due in full on the 1st
    How do I go on similar posts?

    Welcome to the forums. There is a whole board for student questions that can be found here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/student-money-saving
    Any threads on there that are marked as "closed" and "moved" have been moved on to the separate coronavirus help board, but can still be reached from the student board.

    In answer to your specific point, I know that some of the bigger private student hall providers like Unite have agreed not to charge the final term fees. So worth asking again.

    your personal financial situation has nothing whatsoever to do with you daughter's financial situation as a studEnt

    either your daughter is able to manage her own financial affairs or she isn't. Which is it?

    if you have guaranteed her rent then read  the guarantee you signed for its T&C;
    if you haven't, then instruct you daughter that she is a grown adult and needs to stand on her own 2 feet

    Short answer no. Why can she pay out of her student loan. If she doesn’t have one then apply for a change in circumstances. Time’s are hard for everyone. You can just not pay the bills.

    I work in HE and the answer may depend on who manages the accommodation.  If they are university owned halls (or have a formal agreement with the university) they may have a different response to private providers, so worth asking the uni accommodation office what the situation is.

    Also worth checking original T&C's.  If someone drops out of uni for example, everything is not always payable.  So it may be possible to try and enact this clause.  Not saying it's definitely possible, but worth a try.
