OK to post links to other forums given the high of traffic here?

"We’re struggling at the moment with the huge volumes of messages we’re getting from Forumites about coronavirus and the impact it’s having on their finances."

So would it be OK to post links to other forums to discuss such matters?

I can't see any objection to you doing so as long as it complies with the forum rules (e.g. no spamming, no self promotion, no linking to a site you own or operate, etc), and you think it may assist another MSEer seeking particular advice on something.

There are many times I have seen posts referring to other forums, e.g. LegalBeagles, Pepipoo, HonestJohn, etc, etc. where appropriate.

Well the idea was to assist this site and reduce the workload on moderators etc..
MSE is always complaining about "discussion time" costing it money so I would  have though it would have welcomed
less post in that section of the site.

  • The forum I was gonna like to seems to have disappeared!!

Site traffic has actually fallen significantly recently and hasn't increased since the virus outbreak

  • People not posting from "work" perhaps?

    Or over zealous moderation?

When did they remove the thanks button?

They haven't, apart from in Money Savers Arms / Discussion Time when they switched forums last month

If you look at the graphics above the drop off did indeed occur about the time of the change. It continues to slide despite the ideal conditions to increase readership.

Yes looks like a bad move, the money savers arms and discussion time maybe seen as "costs", but they are key to the attractiveness of the site as a whole and should be seen as a "loss leader".

Indeed. Without those boards this forum would be tumbleweed.
