I'd ask the retailer why their agent is acting in direct opposition to their wishes. Have they heard about a tail wagging the dog, the monkey dictating to the organ grinder or the oily rag telling the engineer what to do!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Email back and ask them ''do you mean you have NOW cancelled the PCN?''
     The reply reads that way!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It looks like it was a spelling mistake on their half, they replied again tonight saying.....

    Thanks for getting in touch.

We have now cancelled this parking charge for you.

If there is anything else I can help with, just let me know.

Yes, the previous email made no sense!
Keep that email in case you need it, if UKCPS contact you again.
