Yep.....communal facilities are being restricted and many sites are putting risk plans together to open these facilities later when permitted .0

Buy a self-contained camping toilet ('porta potty').
They don't need emptying very often at all unless you pee a lot. My father used to encourage us all to use public toilets when out for the day/ pee in a bush or hedge if in the middle of nowhere to reduce emptying. And the contents don't stink or slosh out when you are driving, because the opening at the bottom of the toilet bowl has a little sliding trap door, as well as a regular toilet seat/ lid.
You put a chemical liquid in the bottom for hygiene, fill a reservoir with tap water for 'flushing', use cheaper toilet roll (breaks down easily) and not too much of it. Put wet wipes and ladies sanitary products in a bin bag not down the toilet.
At the end of your trip (or when it is full) the toilet is emptied down an outside drain at the campsite, or even at home. Whatever is in the chemical liquid makes that completely safe.

You may not be allowed on.... as far as I am aware the re-opening is for caravans & holiday homes who are self contained with own shower/bath, WC and kitchen facilities.

Some sites are allowing people on as they are allowing access to the Elsan toilet water disposal, but not to shower facilities ,others are not ( caravan club and camping and caravan club sites are already fully open in England but not yet in Wales or Scotland). Some local councils ( they police the licence for the sites) require the site holders to gave a full risk assessment in place, but not all. So really it's up to the site owners how they comply with government and local licensing authorities going forwards, so it is best to contact them before you travel.Penguin_ said:Bantell said:Our site is opening on 11th July BUT with no toilet facilities.
