I only ask because cats normally bury their faeces
Not the ones in my area at least. They even do it on footpaths
They will s**t anywhere, footpaths included!!
Apart from which, living in a rural area I can recognise fox & badger poo, unlike the city folk they drafted in to mark all the dog poo on the paths and roads. Most of it was fox.0 -
Get your own cat. It will spend its days deterring all other cats and do it’s business in your neighbours instead.1

We always had cat poo in our garden until we got cats of our own. Cats don’t poo in their own garden as a rule and other cats won’t poo in the garden where a cat lives. You probably don’t want a cat though!0

Clean it all up and keep doing so. The smell of it will identify the garden as a big litter box, so you need to remove what there is now and check every day for more. If you do all the other suggestions too, well the ones that won't hurt the cat (chilli is just cruel), you should hopefully see it make a difference. I would not consider using a water pistol cruelty - cats learn very quickly and it won't hurt - and it will provide an outlet for your frustration too so get a few water pistols by the windows/doors and have at it. If you don't have water pistols, use a cup of water.0

I've bought an automatic PIR activated water jet that connects to a standard hose pipe - I had about 6 cats a night coming through the garden, climbing onto the bird table, doing their business all over, and had tried fitting deterrent spikes to the fences around the edges, but everything I tried to deter failed - once the auto-water pistol was fitted - each was 'scared' once or twice and they now find alternative routes around the garden - it's worked perfectly without harming any of them (they might have gotten a bit wet though). Here's a capture from my CCTV:

Golf balls. If you don't want your cat to have concussion, GET A CAT LITTER TRAY. It's your job to protect your cat, not mine to protect my garden & grandsons from their crap.
Chase them off from on & around your property EVERY time you see them until they learn they are not welcome.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
