How to stop next doors cat from s&&tting in my garden!!!!

Does anyone know how to stop this??? It’s massively winding me up as my garden is absolutely covered in cat poo from next doors cat. My garden is quite messy as I have recently moved in so it’s not in the best shape. My daughter wants to use the garden but we are constantly picking it up.
I can’t speak to the neighbour as they can’t control where their cat does his business.

Cats don't like citrus smells, so leaving orange peel about can deter them.
Also fill some small clear bottles up with water and leave them in borders, which deters cats too.
If you've recently moved in, it will be a learned behavior so will take ages to change.
We tried all of the above malarky, then bought a dog.... lol
Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....

Water pistol or hose! They don't like water.

You can buy movement activated hoses- cat moves through the beam and breaks the circuit, water pistol action.
Another possibility is a cat silhouette with reflective eyes- only bold cats will encroach.
Yet another is supposed to be a toy snake- didn't work in my garden- cat is supposed to recognise the inherent risk!
Pepperdust- specially formulated to keep off cats & dogs

I have dogs and it doesn't keep a cat off the woodchips!
    Good luck

A neighbour used to dry any kind of citrus peel, blitz in the grinder and then sprinkle over her beautifully raked flower beds every 2/3 days (weather dependent)
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything! --
    Many thanks

Cats like longer grass to hide and mud to dig and bury. Tidy up the garden and as someone else said citrus

They don't like citrus or chilli powder.

We also found lion dung quite effective.

Have you seen the cat pooing?
I only ask because cats normally bury their faeces.
You may have a fox in the area.
However I second the idea of a sprinkler, most cats dont like getting wet and it wont hurt the cat.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

I keep seeing this but it is not true, having seen it too many times. Maybe if the find soft dug over soil they would but they won't dig compacted soil, grass or gravel to bury it.
Not the ones in my area at least. They even do it on footpaths

Cats do normally bury but not always.
I had suspicions that a dog was being allowed to poo on my front garden, open grass, until I witnessed a cat doing so!
Sometimes with a small dog and larger cat you can't tell the species difference just from the poo.

Get a photo of it.  Post on Facebook "If this is your cat it's sh***ing in my garden.  Stop it."
It'll at least make you feel better :)
