weird laptop wireless problem

  • I'm having a similar problem with my office setup. Looks like its connected to router but no internet and can't ping or access router from wi-fi. I assume you've turned off everything and rebooted. have checked the routing map on the router to ensure its okay. That you're not blocking any specific IP addresses from the internet. Detect network settings is off on Windows explorer.

    It is frustrating I know.
  • Yep, double checked everything, definitely nothing being blocked, all settings as they should be, have connected wirelessly on another computer so I'm pretty sure its a laptop problem
  • what do you see on the laptop when you do
    netsh int ip show route
  • 'The following command was not found: int ip show route'
  • what does ipconfig /all

    say?

    is comodo completely uninstalled?

does the laptop work if you wire it up to the router?
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • I had exactly the same problem with my laptop a few days ago.

All I did, after doing everything you did, was turn off the router for a few hours, switched it back on again & it connected to the net fine.

Before I did this I did phone the manufacturer of my router (as advised by my isp) and left a message for them to phone me back. By the time they had phoned back it was sorted but the guy on the end of the phone said just to double check my internet settings if it happens again incase something had changed. Other than that he had no idea why it had happened.

Out of interest do you keep you router on 24/7? I do and the only 2 times I have ever turned it off I had this problem when switching it back on.

  • Thank you for your help everyone, I think I'm getting closer to sorting it (and if I'm not I'm getting nearer to launching it out of the nearest window)

Laptop will not connect to the internet using any sort of connection. Well, it will connect and show as connected, but I still can't get on any websites. I'm therefore thinking that it's something to do with when I uninstalled comodo.
Have run ccleaner, not sure whether to reinstall comodo onto the lappy and then uninstall it again (as you can tell, by now I don't know what I'm talking about lol)
  • It was comodo that was causing the trouble. Have reinstalled and it works again now. Many thanks for all your help
