Parcels sent via royal mail signed for by someone else in my name - I havent received parcels

Hi There
I checked parcel tracking this evening (Royal mail) and saw that 2 parcels I was expecting were delivered on Saturday
and signed for. Unfortunately I havent received them and it shows that someone else signed for them. No card was dropped through the door my the post man to say that the parcels were left with the neighbours. Which is really worrying me as I have no proof as it stands that I didnt receive the good.
What is worrying me is that is shows signatures were made by someone for both parcels (on the tracking website) Shows the actual iimages of the signatures and time of delivery which ws Saturday 21st March.2020. The signatures are not mine and nothing like anything I would sign. I am really sick with worry as the contents of the parcels are very expensive (sender can vouch for this). I have been staying with my parents during coronavirus and checking on my home (4 doors) away daily
I have never had this happen to me before and really in despair. It says on the Royal Mail website that the postman are no longer taking signatures
on parcels since 14th March 2020 and the sender was sending parcels asking for signatures. I made my order with the sender on the Thursday 19th March
and they sent out my 2 parcels the next day. The tracking showed they were delivered and signed for on the Saturday 21st March I am really beside myself for not checking tracking sooner and didnt because I thought post office had becomed slowed down with delivery times due to the Coronavirus. Not sure what I can do as it says on Royal Mail website sender is the one that needs to make enquiries with Royal Mail?
In this situation can I make a claim for loss?
Grateful of for any help/advice
Dave

Have you checked with your neighbours? Either party can make enquiries and/or claim for a lost parcel, but it's generally easier for RM if the sender does it as they usually have the proof of postage, details of service used. Check with neighbours first before you start to panic.. In the current situation they might be reluctant to open the door so perhaps write notes to put through the doors and give your phone number?0

Ask your local delivery office to check with the postie, as they might remember which neighbour (or ridiculous "safe place") they left the parcels with?0

https://www.royalmail.com/d8/coronavirus-protection In order to protect both our people and customers, we are temporarily not handing over our hand-held devices to customers to capture signatures. Postmen and postwomen will instead log the name of the person accepting the item, and can sign on their behalf. This will apply to all deliveries that require a signature. Additionally, for all customers (including those who are self-isolating) where we need to deliver any parcel that won’t fit through their letterbox, we will place their item at their door. Having knocked on the door, we will then step aside to a safe distance while they retrieve their item. This will ensure the item is delivered securely rather than being left outside.
If they are unable to come to the door at all we will issue a ‘Something for You’ card, advising of other ways they can arrange to get their item. For example, by getting a friend or family member to collect the parcel from our local Customer Service Point on their behalf. In this situation, and to keep their mail as secure as possible, they will need to bring along the card we left and a form of ID in the name of the person the item is addressed to.
