Trading Platform with ISA support
Options

Why is it that the UK platforms are so rubbish!? I'm with Lloyds sharedealing and I feel like I am in the dark ages and paying through my nose for it. Though I can't seem to find any decent platform that supports ISAs. eToro would be great, or fidelity or etrade, but none of these have ISA options. I know Interactive Investor does, but there platform seems a bit dated too. Does anyone know of any more advanced platform that also supports ISAs?

There are many reputable platforms (including Fidelity from your list) who support S&S ISAs and they offer a variety of different pricing choices. If you pick wisely you can get great value for money. Generally percentage based platforms are great for low value accounts holding OEIC funds and fixed price platforms are better for larger accounts or buying exchange traded assets such as Shares, ITs and ETFs. Personally I don't care how dated the platform looks if it has the required features and provides good value for money. If you provide some specifics of your objectives, what you are investing in, account valuation and trade pattern we might be able to help fund you a platform cheaper (or maybe better looking) than Lloyds.0

What securities are you looking to trade?
What are expecting the software to provide?

Objectives is to have a mixture of long and short term investments and the ability to set trade plans for all stocks not just UK ones (as lloyds allows) Ideally I'd be able to use some logic, like if price increases by x % then adjust stop loss by x (I.e. lock in profits), this would have helped loads with the current situation. At the moment I literally have to sit on the site clicking refresh to make sure I don't miss something.

See previous post. It would be nice to be able to set up some logic to trade plans, but honestly anything is better than Lloyds.
Trading is very basic and functional. - and emotional which is what we try eliminate with setting up automatic trades.0 -

The account is > 100k.Hmm sounds like your requirements are more suited to a dynamic trading account rather than an investment platform. Lloyds are mostly aiming at buy and hold accumulation investors who don't need that functionality. If the account is over £100k then the Lloyds fees will be a small proportion of the account balance unless you are clicking the trade button very frequently. If you are not using the £1.50 rate for funds or regular trading then iWeb (also operated by Halifax Share Dealing) would be cheaper but no more functional at £25 setup then £5 per trade which would be at least £3 cheaper per trade and avoid the recurring £40 pa of account fees.0 -
X-O (part of Jarvis Investment managers) is functional. Live trading. Set price and date limits on trades. Ability to trade international shares directly if listed on the LSE. Access to international bourses. Traders are contactable direct if assistance is required, very helpfull. £5.95p a trade. Though some countries such as France do levy additional fees/taxes.
