Microsoft Remote Desktop & Virgin Media Superhub 3.0

Hello,
Are there any Tech 'wizards' on here who can perhaps explain why my Virgin Media Superhub 3.0 isn't letting me log in to my Remote Desktop on my PC?
Bizarrely, if I use a 'hotspot' from my mobile - it works!
I've also taken a laptop in to work to try it on their wifi - and that works!
So, through process of elimination, I've come to believe it is infact this router and I'm looking for a solution as I can't possibly use my hotspot for the coming weeks/months where I may have to work from home.
Many thanks,
MSM

May need to open a port on your router.Superhub 3 seems to have issues with this, may be more beneficial just to put it in Modem mode and use your own DSL router:

I'm confused ... which network is the device (phone?) you're using connected to? Is it the same network as where the PC resides? (e.g. the home WiFi).
(The fact you can RDP to your PC from your phone via "hotspot" or from your work's network suggest that the problem isn't the router ports, as the connection seems to be passing through the router firewall and reaching the PC. So it looks more like a loopback issue).0 -
You've not explained your network topology adequately. We don't know if "your PC" that you're trying to connect to is itself connected to the internet through this superhub, or of the device you are using to start an RDP session is connected via this superhub, or something else.
I have established an RDP session from my workplace, which uses VM for connectivity but as far as a know not with a superhub as the router supplied on business accounts seems to be different, to a Windows virtual machine in my home, where I use A&A. I had to configure a firewall rule on my router at home to allow the connection in, but I did not need to make any changes at work.
Explain where the PC you are trying to connect to is and what ISP / router is being used there, and where you are and what ISP / router is being used there.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
Hello, sorry for the confusion...
I use a desktop PC at work, connected to their server, let's call this Computer 1.
I been supplied with another to bring home, let's call this Computer 2.- I can connect Computer 2 to Computer 1 using an 'app' called Remote Desktop, when I am in the office on their wi-fi (I tried before I left).
- I can also connect Computer 2 to Computer 1 when I am at home, if I use my mobile phone as a 'hotspot'.
- I can not connect Computer 2 to Computer 1 if I try to use my Superhub 3.0 in wifi or modem only mode.
EDIT: I found out today the router in work is supplied by Virgin Media but not a SH3.

Answer suggested here by "dannylau" on the VM community forums:

though the person asking the question says it didn't work, but the nature of their replies isn't the most clear or helpful
