Support for a agency Workers

Is there any guidance on how the government are supporting people employed through an agency. My husband is employed through an Agency and has a contract of 37 hours with the company he has been with for nearly 2 years and is PAYE registered. He has been off worked for a week with Corona symptons but was wanting to return to work as he doesn't get paid while off. The company HR have advised hos to stay off but the agency said that they cannot pay him as they dont have funding and have had no guidance on what lines to take.
There are thousands of agency workers in this position and if the companies had some clarification it might make the difference of my husband being kept on or the company letting him go.
Any advise would be grateful

I have the same question. No one seems to have an answer at the moment as your post like my own has received no reply.0

When you have answered the same question 100 times already with "nobody knows yet", you start to lose enthusiasm.0

Look at Universal Credit. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/universal-credit/ There are online calculators to help you assess entitlement https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculatorsAnnie1066 said:am on a temp to permanent contract. been sent home with no income as agency say they are not obliged to pay me and I do not qualify for aide from govt. Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
I work in a benefits environment and was contacted today by someone who works in a school via a Teaching Agency. They have been advised that due to the way they are employed they are not eligible for furlough. They pay PAYE and NI so are not self-employed. Been employed in the same school (via the agency) for over 18 months.
They seem to think the agency’s hiding something and possibly been a little bit ‘lacking’ with their accounting to HMRC.
What advice can you offer as to where these employees can turn for help in these uncertain times?
Thank you
P

Nobody can say yet that "due to the way they are employed they are not eligible for furlough" because we don't have enough details. Employees cannot force employers to enter the coronavirus job retention scheme though.
