House move Scotland suspended

All was going well for our move on Friday then today my solicitor told me that Registers of Scotland have suspended transactions immediately.
my wife is pregnant, utilities are set to be transferred over and removals organised. The RoS twitter feed states that they are working on a solution for people who have to move in the next week or so.
Im worrying about everything, I called my mortgage provider who said my solicitor should write to them. Would anyone be able to hazard a guess if it would still be possible to move in time or are we going to be homeless?

Everyone's in the same boat, so if you're selling and buying (and both properties are in Scotland...) then worst case scenario is you'll be sitting tight where you are. There's talk of there being some changes to existing procedures to allow more online applications, but I wouldn't bet on anything being sorted by the end of the week.

Thanks David.I don’t understand why a solution for this week had not been put in place before reaching this decision. I need to cancel all the utilities moving across tomorrow0

Because that takes time? Time that we do not have to stop the spread of a serious virus. Your house move is sadly not more important than that, or anyone's for that matter.kevc1985 said:Thanks David.I don’t understand why a solution for this week had not been put in place before reaching this decision. Jess is being homeless on Friday and not being able to lockdown anywhere not an important matter?“That takes time” - the virus has been about for a number of weeks and guidance issued so plenty of time for RoS to prepare.1

To be blunt, you're not going to end up homeless are you? Family? Temp accommodation? Of course it's not ideal and must be frustrating but the big picture is people are dying. In answer to you though, a few weeks ago I don't imagine they knew how quickly it was going to spread or we would have been locked down much earlier, but that's politics.kevc1985 said:Jess is being homeless on Friday and not being able to lockdown anywhere not an important matter?“That takes time” - the virus has been about for a number of weeks and guidance issued so plenty of time for RoS to prepare.
I hope everything goes well for you, and hopefully they can sort out online processing in time for your move.0 -
To be blunt you don’t know my circumstances. It’s not very helpful commenting when you have nothing helpful to say

Just had a look at your last thread on here, looks like you don't like anyone giving you a reply that isn't what you're looking for. Sorry chap that isn't what a public forum is about, I was simply highlighting why this is so sudden and wasn't well prepared for.kevc1985 said:To be blunt you don’t know my circumstances. Good luck with the move.1 -
Jess seems to enjoy attacking others' posts whilst contributing nothing positive him/herself.Sadly there are those who sign up to forums like this for just that purpose and I guess with extra time on hand during the lockdown we must expect mre of this.0
