As you have received a DQ (N180) one has to assume you filed a defence (of some sort).  First, to answer your question - NO to mediation; they want £FULL you want to pay £ZERO.  No middle ground will be offered.  Let us see the defence you submitted and see if it can be rescued at witness statement stage.  If they (OPS/solicitor) have added debt admin costs (or similar wording) you should submit the witness statement constructed by Coupon-mad.  She is Sussex based and often offers to help posters from her area.  No doubt she will post later (or early tomorrow morning).
    1.  If I post up my defence can the solicitor not see it's me if they were to scroll through?
    2.  Can I DM?
    3.  Also, as I said I admitted responsibility and said it was a rip off in my defence ... I read on other threads that that was pretty much a stupid thing to write. I do appreciate you time!

    2.  Not recommended, if you leave it on Forum, more regulars can see and contribute.
3..Post your defence and let's have a look and see if it can  be rescued with a well crafted witness statement.

Show us the exact defence you submitted.

I didn't realise I owed OPS money for being over the time in a car park in Brighton

You don't.  No-one does.  Which car park?

Hi everyone - thanks so much for casting an eye over. I had to botch together from my actual defence doc, so excuse the crude placing together of the statement - I've attached as a PDF doc. I also have to send the DQ back for tomorrow, so I'm definitely going to write No mediation?

    Thanks again!

Hello! Just to let you know I sent back the DQ saying no to mediation...
I'm not sure what to expect next!

OP, if you go back to the NEWBIES thread, it will tell you what to expect after the DQ is returned, but with the current situation limiting CCBC and closing courts, the when is up in the air for now,

You should expect allocation to small claims track (if you didn't already have it) and a letter with a court date.

Just to let you know - The claimant sent through a N279 notice of discontinuance. I’m so relieved and pleased. Thanks for your help in this!

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hooray!  ANOTHER OPS ONE BITES THE DUST!

I won a case about an overstay at Vantage Point last month by phone, and the Judge didn't even need me to speak for the first 40 minutes as he demolished the landowner contract and told them they had issues with it - clearly the local courts have seen it before (Brighton Court).

I seem to recall the contract talks about permits and not the ANPR/pay & display system they are running there.

The Judge also found the signs inadequate.

No doubt OPS gave up because they knew the same would happen!
