    • What are the daily standing charges, what are the p/kWh prices and what provides the heating and hot water?  she never told me that
    • Did you then send EDF monthly meter readings?  yes
    • Did you not look at the bills and see that the account was seriously in debit? i opt out from paper bill I TRUSTED what she said repeated and assured me and let the DD run
    • Did you ignore a notification that your DD had been increased after a review? again opted out of paper bill  and i let the DD run

The problem is that all the things you say they didn't tell you and the accurate basis for the contract that you agreed to will have been communicated to you by the means you selected.
If you opted for paper-free it means that you agreed to be contacted via email or via your account on their website, all the details you say you didn't know are there.
You can't opt for paper-free and then elect not to read the information provided by other means and then complain about it.
I would strongly suspect that this is the basis for the Ombudsman not agreeing with your compliant.
Right now though, Gerry is leading you in the right direction, you need to get a firm handle on the real usage you have in your new house and the real cost involved in that, including the amounts you have already used but not yet paid for.
Do check the tariff you are on, you've said that you have ended the contract, but it appears that you are still with them as your supplier? If so you are probably on their most expensive 'deemed' tariff and that is not somewhere you should be a moment longer than necessary...

Do you have gas central heating, or is it all electric?  You're the person that knows that !

    I have gas central heating

I was able to leave EDF imagine that !
I am with a new company, I have just paid my second DD they have given me a year estimate and I will call them to pay slightly more than I was quoted in the first place.
The one I'm with is much cheaper however in my living room I have some in wall cupboard, maybe very badly done as when is cold outside there is wind and cold coming in from there, I guess with that issue my room never gets warm enough (thermostat never reach the temp I select and stays on until I switch it off)

I will get the script of the call and start a small case thank you so much

in all honesty no I did not regularly check the communication sent by EDF i honestly thought were only the bills
The Ombudsman  said that considering they can't listen to the call will consider the info provided by EDF yes
I will follow what Gerry has advised, I am no longer with EDF since the 3rd of March

Thank you so much for your advise

Great that you've escaped.  Also great IF you now know your annual consumption in kWh from actual meter readings, IF you have done a full market comparison (with separate suppliers as well as dual fuel), IF you know your new pence/kWh rates and daily standing charge(s), IF you have done the sums and know what the annual cost will be if your consumption remains the same.
But have you really done all your homework, or are you just desperately hoping your new supplier(s) and new tariff(s) will be the Holy Grail?  I'd really like to see some solid factual evidence, otherwise you may be jumping from the frying pan into the fire.
When you get the call recording and transcript you'll be able to see how strong your case is and whether to pursue it with the Ombudsman.  That's a fairly safe bet, that's what they are there for, and it's no great problem if they don't support you.
But as previously mentioned, if the Ombudsman goes against you, think carefully before going down the small claims route, or indeed any other route.  It won't be free of charge and an unreasonably large claim (e.g. paying only £780 for All You Actually Ate) might be laughed out of court; best speak to Citizens Advice first if that's what you want to do.  Note that I'm only advising you to establish the facts about your usage and tariffs, and to do all the sums.  However, I'm not advising you to make a small claim etc, only noting that you could choose to do this if you wish, but that I doubt it would be very successful, especially if the Ombudsman had already ruled against you.
It would be a good idea to tell us your actual gas and electricity usage, the first part of your postcode, the name of your new tariff(s) and all the rates so that forumites can double check whether you now have a reasonable deal.
