New combi boiler ..same problem

Howdy!
Some of you  may have seen my posts about my previous combi boiler ,and the multitude of problems I had when I had it.
Fast forward to today , I have a lovely new Worcester green star c d i compact boiler installed today . Long job and I am grateful for the installer who was here for many hrs.
However, I have a problem with the hot water pressure in the kitchen . It's even worse than before , if that's possible.. Hardly any water coming out at all  from the mixer tap. The tap is the swan neck type ,with the left and right separate . The bathroom shower mixer taps  ok, but the pressure for bath( is poor . My flat is a ground floor conversion ,and water comes from the mains .
Job for a plumber? Not exactly the best time for this to be happening .
Thanks in advance ..

    Get him back
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
  • Thanks. I received a call from an inspector / electrician who is coming over to check his work before signing off who is coming over this afternoon / evening .
Ironically ,I was trying to wash plates when I got that call.
What I will say , is that when I got the quote for installation , I was told it was for 4 days installation .  The installer said , no it's a full day installation . Him being welsh, and me having a speech impediment it was like a sitcom . A few hrs later he told me that I was given the wrong information and that I was right in what I said. I found the email also.
I was thrilled to get it done due to corona virus etc .
I'll phone the person who phoned me , and get him back .

  • The installer was making excuses about taps ( limescale) and mains . It seems that he was probably tired after being there from about 8.30  till about 7pm . He showed me how to use the timer , but I'm writing this now as the heating is full on and never switched off.
I will read the manual in the meantime

Do you know which boiler he put in? There are three variants of the Greenstar CDi Compact with different hot water flow rates:
    1. Greenstar 28CDi Compact - 10l/min
    2. Greenstar 32CDi Compact - 11.5l/min
    3. Greenstar 36CDi Compact - 12.9l/min
    Information taken from here: https://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk/products/boilers/directory/greenstar-cdi-compact

  • Thanks poppellerant. It's the 28 cdi compact , that you mentioned above .
I got through to the company at 8.30 this morning . Still waiting for plumber/ installer to get back to me ..
  • Okay .. Here's the spiel :
The company that eon used to install the boiler ( Colin Laver heating ) advised me to contact eon . The chap who should've phoned me this morning is the chap I spoke to
He got on to the installer who says there is a problem with my taps . I disputed this , as I had everything new installed just under 3 years ago . Colin Laver heating say it's nothing to do with the boiler as the problem was there when I had the old one . They say they only deal with the install . The flip side to this is that I got a new boiler for £240 as I am unfortunately on universal credit for the first time of my life .  So not sure if rules are different . I have left a message with the plumber / builder who I used a lot when I moved in and am going to ask his advice also ..

If you have the same problem with 2 boilers it's not the boiler, unless both boilers aren't spec'ed to meet your requirements.  It's possible that the tap isn't opening properly.
  • Update : I managed to get screwdriver and spanner out . I barely adjusted the taps under the sinks and pressure and hot water is a lot better. It does seem like it is a tap issue
I may give Colin Laver heating a call and apologise . I've been through the mill so hopefully you can understand my anxiety over this . The pressure is less on the hot taps but more manageable than yesterday .  I'll apologise . Thanks
