EE review

My SKY broadband is increased by £2 so I am thinking to either switch to EE or Vodaphone. Topcashback have good deals/cashback but as I haven't tried them before I am unsure.  I also read Which reviews and are great for both.  What are your suggestions, anyone having positive and negatives about these broadbands? I am looking to upgrade from standard to fibre (35Mb).

I would say EE. If you get a good cashback deal through quidco or topcashback its often much the same as vodafones offer prices anyway. I found EE perfectly fine and the support surprisingly good. Much better than plus.net who I am with now.  They seem to have figured out what they are doing.

Vodafone I tried to join on one of these special offers but they denied any responsibility for honouring their offers, cancelled orders secretly so even their customer service people couldn't tell and could not tell if there pricing was an unannounced special offer or just a mistake. In the end they paid me £100 compensation to go away. That said I do know people who have signed up without problems and seem happy enough. If you are an undemanding customer and it all goes ok then its all a muchness. But god help you if you have to rely on their customer services at all, they are utterly out of their depth at present.

If your Sky service is good then negotiate a better price .
Personally £2 pm would never persuade me to move .
Possible unable to upgrade now as OpenReach will not visit households if work required .
  • I have always liked Sky but I renewed my contract just in Jan and I was told that the your price wont increase for a year but still they increased the price in 2 months by £2. I was given inflation reason.  Paying £22 for standard broadband seems too much and I was happy to stay with them on that price if I was given fibre broadband which they didnt offer me. So I thought it's better to switch now and get TCB/new user EE cashback.  Now I have got £110 cashback from TCB and £23 pm fibre broadband, which brings to £17.44 pm for 18 months and getting fibre broadband.  Seems a good deal and they are with open reach and no visit required which was confirmed on email.
