How does that work then, as You obviously have to read it, to realise you don't like it ?! 🤔

Great work there Gers and you're right, if it has to wait then it does.
Bella - It's OK going to Costco, especially with your family carrying on with the fantastic work they are doing. I hope the shelves were well stocked for you.
Good to 'see' you Cranky, have you taken unpaid leave intentionally?
Csarina - wishing this virus on anyone, no matter how much they annoy you, is extremely unkind.
I've been to the allotment, only the guy who runs it was there and we kept far, far away from each other. I've planted 88 onions and turned over another bed, will do more as soon as I can. There is a very stiff breeze out there so I can say I have had my share of fresh air today.14 -
Errrmmmm no Camelot - I work in a cafe. I have asthma so I'm glad enough to be home as the HT only has me. The person who was supposed to look after him if anything happened to me died last June. My sister lives in Ireland, has way more people living in her house than she can cope with and the HT would be bullied for being English if he went to live there.
I'm glad of the chance to stay in and I have a comprehensive list of things that need to be caught up on, most of them involving housework of some sort. Things like washing the vertical blinds, cleaning the inside of the car......they can wait for lockdown. For the moment we go out at 7am, are home before there's more than 10 people on the prom (it was like a bank holiday afternoon there yesterday apparently) and I'm making a crochet blanket for my little Irish great-nephew.
Well done on the onion planting. I have lettuce and rocket seedlings and I've planted tomato seeds. Courgettes to follow next month. The rhubabrb is growing well and I have enough berries in the freezer to make a couple of jars of jam.
I agree about not wishing anyone ill by the way. I believe that you get back what you put out into the universe. We do have some customers in the cafe that are less than polite. We just roll our eyes at each other (staff) and move on. I certainly wouldn't wish them harm.14 -
Afternoon all,Hope everyone is coping. I'm just pottering doing jobs I wouldnt normally do, going through old correspondence ready for the recycling tomorrow.Dh and DS have just been to collect all his tools/equipment as he finished the latest extension last week, & dropped it into his storage unit, and then that's it for a bit, he's told the next job it's put on hold for now, so we'll have to tighten belts but I have dried beans, lentils etc to eke stuff out for a good few weeks :)I have 2 sm deliveries booked but am thinking I might cancel 1 as we do have plenty in, & let someone else have the slot. The council has shut the parks and libraries this morning due to self isolation. There was an awful incident in one of the local parks ( not ours) yesterday,a little girl died after being stabbed by a woman, in front of her parents. Its saying she was a stranger with MH issues but it's absolutely heartbreaking. Can't stop thinking about the poor parentsYesterday I cut an old duvet up and made a new dog bed, I might do a couple more for the animal charity - it's one way of keeping busy!Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. It puts all our woes into perspective somewhat.DM fed and watered and now she's watching TV again, I managed to get her to turn over from BBC News channel (231) as it was rolling doom and gloom, not to mention endless analysis from Tom, !!!!!! and Harry.Me writing 'Harry' brought a happy memory streaming into my mind - on Orkney mainland there is a place called Harray which has a lovely elderly potter working and living there. He calls himself the Harray Potter! Clicky thing here. It simpley makes me smile to think of him and his brilliant marketing. I bought two tiny wee pottery Daleks from him, they're not on the website. One I bought at Kirkwall airport and the other he made specially for me when I broke the stalk off the first one. Lovely man.Happy gardening to all the greenfingered amongst us.

Lovely photos GERS, what a good job they have made. Originally I had window envy but now I have floor and fireplace envy too!
As I am in for a long haul of isolation I have just been building my Easter and birthday card stocks up with an on-line order. Also gift cards to put in the DGDs Easter cards - I usually buy them an alternative to eggs but obviously can't get out to choose anything! I'll ask DD to get me a nice box of something for DS and family.to share.
I had the usual rubbish sleepless night of worrying about things I can't change and it's now catching up with me. I might try and have a bit of a nap. Take care all xx ps nice to have you back with us CRANKY!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Gers does demolition gardening count ? Also if those workmen are available for cleaning, please send them thisawayTotal of 2 branches cut down today, but they were joined at the hip and Mr Fix It had to saw through an 8 inch trunk......... that took some work. He also fell and did a backward roll, who knew he could do that ? Apparently his ninja training kicked in
He's fine, but he did set my heart racing at the time for all the wrong reasons. 2 more to go tomorrow I think, but hopefully at the end of play we shall be singing the " Lumberjack Song " Monty Python style to celebrate.
Cranky " hello " happy to have you and the HT back.Love to all in this terrible troubled time.nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -
NAN - most definitely - you can't make an omlette without cracking eggs! I had a huge amount of work done on my front garden (part of a field) two years ago. Hard core gardening. I'll find the thread I started in the gardening thread.TA - the fireplace is lovely, thanks. DM has a beautiful flat though it's now in a state of faded grandeur, especially the kitchen. Baby steps. The thing is that I don't want to live here after she's gone so it's not really worth it to do too much work, a dishwasher is a must and a new oven also. After that the rest can wait until new owners rip everything out!

Just back.to update on what I've managed today
Washing nearly dry, thank you sunshine
Lawn mown front and back
Some weeding
Slabs swept
Work done
Now doing some winemaking
I forgot to tell you, our elderly neighbours returned after five months abroad so nipped round last week to see if they were ok and did they need anything (from a safe distance). No, they are fine and I know they have family here but it seemed the kind and friendly thing to do. Half an hour later I spotted mr neighbour tipping leftover bread into the scrubby bit at the b ottom of our garden. He doesn't know I saw!
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back10 -
