Looks like investec have a new 1.05% one year bond ,and a .58% instant access - neither exactly exciting but not bad for these times.
I closed down my notice account as he interest kept dropping, and left a small amount in the Easy access account just to keep it open.
I am now trying to open a 1 year bond but it isnt letting me using my existing account - i would have to start again from scratch.
Has anyone else experienced this ?
I will give their Call centre a try tomorrow, but just in the meantime wonder if anyone has had any problems0 -
Have had an easy access account with Investec for just a few weeks now. Have been pleasantly surprised with their website and customer service and would recommend them. Yes the instant access rate has gone up to 0.58% which is near the top of the best buy tables for easy access. And it is true easy access, not like some financial institutions0

Thinking of opening a one year fixed rate bond with them.
Does anyone know how long it takes for a deposit to show up in your account after doing a transfer. I was about to open an online account with another bank, but then noticed it said it takes 4 days for any deposits to show online, so I didn't bother.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
hi Melbury
Im not sure exactly how long it takes with Investec but they were certainly no worse than any other bank when i opened my previous account.
The fixed rate is probably worth opening as it is as good as anything around at the moment and Investec customer service is decent. They have a live chat facility which i always appreciate as it saves waiting on the phone and you can get a written transcript if needed1 -
I had an Investec account for 3 years, no problems at allI only closed it this year as the saving rates are now a joke (not just Investec's)Took all my money out and put it into a Global Tracker which is up 8% in the first two monthscomfortably beating Investec's 0.55%1
