Hoseasons/ Darwin Escapes uk break

Hoseasons are currently refusing to issue refunds to customers who have holidays booked, they are offering the oppotrunity to change your booking to the same park but on an alternative date. This is unsuitable for us given our work circumstances we cannot get leave approved for revised dates given the current circumstances and when checking the cost of the holiday for for next year has increased significantly in cost.
All facilites have been closed on the site.
We have a vulnerable family member travelling with us (heavily pregnant) at a time when the government are advising every to social distance and to shield the vulnerable the holiday parks and hoseasons are putting their customers and staff at unnecessary risk.
We've contacted the park directly but just get referred back to hoseasons their booking agent. They have advised the lodge will be  cleaned in accordance with their regular cleaning schedule, this isnt enough given the current circumstances.
Any ideas on how we can pursue a refund?

  • Have you had a response yet ? We are in the Same boat . If we rebooked next year it would be double and we don’t know if leave would be authorised
  • We are in a similar position, don't want to rebook as I am pregnant and this trip was supposed to be a 'baby moon'. Any idea what our rights are regarding refund? I've looked on the Citizens Advice website which seems to suggest we are entitled to a full refund but Hoseasons are clearly not forthcoming with this which I think is disgusting!
  • We are in the same situation, we booked a short break over the first weekend in May, Hoseasons have offered to move to later in the year, when all dates are more expensive and move to next year, which is currently booked for the same period. I have tried to email, call and contact through social media I can't get any response. Advise seems to be that we should be entitled to get a full refund, how do we get any contact or response from them. It seems like they are just keeping our money. Advise greatly appreciated.

You are entitled to a full refund, but it seems that there are no practical steps with which to get it.  All you can do is periodically contact them and insist on a refund but be prepared for that not to work.  Credit card action is a possibility but many people are reporting failure by that route.  Legal action will take many months.

Weve still not had any contact from Hoseasons. Weve requested a chargeback from our bank to our debit card as we paid for the holiday in full using this. They have actioned this but I understand Hoseasons have 30 days to dispute this. Just waiting to see what happens. We have made it clear to Hoseasons that we wish to recieve a full respond but they have failed to acknowlegde this.
    Good luck!
