I didn't describe it as a goodwill gesture.
OK. I simply read your reply as you agreeing that it was a goodwill gesture.

As you say - it's a goodwill gesture by Easyjet.
I wouldn't expect all holiday companies to operate in the same way.

I simply assumed the OP regarded it as a goodwill gesture or Easyjet had used that term.
My intent was not to agree that it was a goodwill gesture or disagree that it was a goodwill gesture.

  • So let's get this right, my daughter is due to pay the rest of her deposit £300 next week, then another £800 balance in June for a September holiday which she doesn't want to go on now anyway.
She doesn't want to pay any more money out and is prepared to lose the £100 she's already paid. If she takes this course, she could be sued for the rest of the £300 deposit ? Despite the fact she can't talk to anyone about this at tui

In theory she could, yes. In reality, probably not.

Thank you.  In reality probably why not ? Please .
How about the £800 balance ? Is she liable for that too?

In reality probably not because I havent seen a single documented case. And no if she cancels before 10 weeks out its only the deposit she owes.

I suggest she tries and tries on the phone, I am currently on hold to them (see the main TUI thread)
  • We have a holiday booked to Mauritius in October, the Tui website says for bookings in October we'll be contacted by 24th July but the balance is due before then. Should we pay it or not?

    Answered on TUI website:
We appreciate that you may be feeling apprehensive about paying your balance. Unfortunately, if you don’t continue with payments your holiday will be cancelled. If you booked in a TUI Store you can call 0203 451 2688 between 9am and 5.30pm from Monday to Friday as we have Travel Advisors working who are able to help you.

Only you can decide if you should pay or not.
