Hi
I'm compiling a list of suppliers who allow existing customers to switch tarriff without incurring fees.
Personally I know of British Gas, Eon and Scottish Power but do you know of any more?
Many thanks

Avro certainly did, don't know whether that's still the case.Gulf definitely don't. It may vary across tariffs, which may make it a challenge to keep the list up to date. Gas prices are dropping so internal fees may become more common.1

Gulf allowed me to switch fee-free whilst I was still mid-switch in the cooling off period.0

Apologies that was a bit of a pointless post, since any switch can be cancelled and restarted on the new tariff. But Gulf made it easy.0

It doesn't depend on the supplier but on the tariff...
If you're on a fixed tariff with an exit fee, you will be charged that exit fee by the supplier regardless if the switch is internal or external.
One of the main reason that the exit fee is on a fixed tariff is because companies tend to buy the power for the whole contract period upfront - therefore if you switch out of that tariff, they'd need to sell it back (the new tariff you're on would have different power set next to it)0 -

We don't charge exit fees when customers switch from one of our tariffs to another even if their deal is outside the renewal window. Exit fees only apply when changing supplier outside of the renewal window (49 calendar days before a fixed tariff ends until 20 working days after).Customers can also forward switch through our website by up to 52 days in the future. No need to worry if the chosen tariff is removed from sale before this. Once a date has been chosen, it'll be locked in and customers will automatically switch on the specified date. This is an online service only.Hope this is of interest sheffieldeagle.Malc
