The seller is not interested whatsoever in helping me. They have all but said that. They've got their money.

I didn't know that opening a case removes my ability to leave feedback. Had i known that i wouldn't have opened a case but  it's done now. That's what the seller said for me to do.

I asked the seller to dispute and to help me, they just said open a case. I've opened a case, put my case forward and they just respond with "hi".
Just for clarity the reason you lose your ability to leave feedback is that once seller wins an INR or a SNAD case it cannot count against them and they are protected against buyer feedback. However, even if you hadn't opened the case any attempt to leave poor feedback could easily have been disputed by seller, I've done it myself by pointing out to ebay that buyer has stated they didn't get the item when I have proof of delivery.

Opening a case though will not have too much of an impact on you even when you lose it unless you open too many and start to look like a serial claimer.

  • Well i know the response to this post here will be "we know, we told you that would happen" but as i like to update my threads with an outcome whether they're in my favour or not whereas so many claim they'll update but then never bother...

eBay emailed me the outcome today. They wont be refunding me.

Perhaps this is why the seller just wasn't interested in being helpful at all - they knew full well they had played the game right and they didn't have to do a damn thing.

I suppose i should look on the positive side - i've had a few claims over the years, this is the first one i've lost. More than that though, at least it was for a low cost item. I've only lost out on a few quid. If it was something expensive then i'd be pretty damn P'd about it.

I have my parcels delivered to my mothers address as i'd use my entire 20 days annual leave in January if i had them delivered to my house and i'd never be able to buy anything from February onwards.
No, delivered to work is not an option.

The downside of this is my mothers address can sometimes be a problem for couriers as there's no number to the house. The post code on a sat nav will just get you somewhere near the house but you'd be guessing as a delivery driver as to who it was you were delivering to. Thankfully failed deliveries are pretty rare.

I bought an item recently from eBay & noticed it still hadn't arrived. It should've landed last weekend. I contacted the seller yesterday who just said that the tracker says it's been delivered.

As they're clearly not interested because "tracker says", what can i do from here?
Im always a little perplexed when people know they have an issue but dont try and add a solution.
You know the address is an issue so add a line to your address where possible with instructions for the address location. door clour, name on door, directions or something at least.
A postcode that doesnt take you to a regular street/door is always a potential issue.
If the address is vague then you could argue the item was delivered as long as it was to the postcoded addresses.
  • I maintain that i don't believe the address is a problem when there's only 1 or 2 out of 100 that don't make it. Letters make it daily no problem. I frequently buy off eBay as does my wife & brother. My sister buys clothes frequently from online websites. My mother occasionally buys things online.
So that's 5 people all having things delivered to the house. It barely ever is an issue. Since Xmas 2018 i only know of this being the second occasion where something hasn't landed.

I appreciate it's all opinion and i'm not about to try and waste time trying to change someone who i don't know, haven't met nor care about opinion. All i'm saying is, it's my opinion that this isn't something that can be considered frequent enough to be a problem.

Just now i've thrown the post code in to Google Maps to see where maps actually takes you. It pinpoints in to a field across a water way probably 100-200 yards from my mothers house. Her house would easily be the nearest to this point on Google Maps.

^ I recently had to select an address on a website and the options for my postcode were two sensible suggestions (my house and one other), then two suggestions 'centre of pond, abc/xyz yards from {local landmark}'

Letters are delivered by RM. By default theres a far higher chance of local knowledge plus letter delivery tends to lead you to the next address by design. So saying your letters are delivered fine doesnt really matter either way.
A multi drop delivery doesnt work the same way and covers large areas often changing driver day to day.

FYI its opinion and experience which is a bit of a different matter. 1 or 2 out of 100 is a high amount.

It was you yourself that said the address maybe an issue, now you say it isnt..........
I know of a rural postie who often gets letters addressed to 1.3 miles from a local wind turbine. He knows what the actual address is (Its apparently a sub statio/maintenance type hut) but anyone who doesnt simply have the knowledge has no chance

Finally its interesting you come to a forum which by default is for opinions but dont care about opinions. classic

    I never said that.
Feel free to continue telling me what i said and didn't say, what i meant with what i said and didn't mean though. I suppose you know better than i do about what i'm saying and meaning.

  • Is it possible to block sellers?

I searched "block eBay member" and get results for blocking buyers and bidders but i want to block a member outright. I don't want to accidentally find myself buying something from this seller again and don't want to have to keep a note of his name.

You can only block them as a buyer .
