Item not received but tracker says it has been.

I have my parcels delivered to my mothers address as i'd use my entire 20 days annual leave in January if i had them delivered to my house and i'd never be able to buy anything from February onwards.
No, delivered to work is not an option.

The downside of this is my mothers address can sometimes be a problem for couriers as there's no number to the house. The post code on a sat nav will just get you somewhere near the house but you'd be guessing as a delivery driver as to who it was you were delivering to. Thankfully failed deliveries are pretty rare.

I bought an item recently from eBay & noticed it still hadn't arrived. It should've landed last weekend. I contacted the seller yesterday who just said that the tracker says it's been delivered.

As they're clearly not interested because "tracker says", what can i do from here?

In your position I'd ask for the tracking number so I could see for myself what exactly the 'tracker' says. Frustrating that the seller gives you no specific information, intending to leave you utterly stuck with no way forward!

It just says delivered via Royal Mail Parcels. They actually provide the tracker ID.

As the seller to dispute the delivery for you or you can contact your local delivery office and do it.

Presumably the house has a name if not a number?

Making it clear for couriers will treat the cause but for this current symptom go to the Royal Mail delivery office and ask for the GPS data from the scan.

From a sellers point of view you are one of those buyers who drive us crazy!  Had you mentioned delivery address problems at time of purchase to your seller they could've made a note on the booking form or on parcel itself to aid in the delivery.  Have you tracked the parcel yourself using the tracking number?  What exactly does it say?   Parcel will have most likely have been delivered to a neighbour.   Due to current crisis you cannot knock on doors so contact RM and ask for full scan details, hopefully they can provide you with more info via the GPS.

And as for being a 'nightmare buyer' and 'knowing i have address issues' let me explain...

Out of say 100 deliveries, i'd say 1 or 2 are an issue due to the address. That's a pretty low percentage i'd argue. Of those 1 or 2 problems i'd say both of them are couriers, never Royal Mail.

The item was delivered via Royal Mail.

We'll at times get a phone call (from a courier) saying we can't find you, where are you, but again, never Royal Mail.

IF it was a case of most times or even frequently then i'd say something but it's actually quite rare even though admittedly it does happen.

I'd say that 1 or 2% of deliveries failing because your house is tricky to locate is very high.

It would be in your interests to get people to add some advice to whoever  is delivering.  It is quite likely that RM are allocating people to your round who are not familiar with the area, due to staff sickness or rest days.

    The wonderful thing about opinions.

At any rate, i'm not going to argue over whether it is or is not a high number. I put in a claim on eBay, seller just responded to the claim with "hi".

    Wonderful.

The seller will win the claim if they have proof of delivery, you need to do as theonlywayisup said earlier in the thread and ask the seller to dispute this with Royal mail or assist you to do so. Opening any sort of claim merely removes your ability to leave feedback for the seller and might have lost you their goodwill.

  • The seller is not interested whatsoever in helping me. They have all but said that. They've got their money.

I didn't know that opening a case removes my ability to leave feedback. Had i known that i wouldn't have opened a case but  it's done now. That's what the seller said for me to do.

I asked the seller to dispute and to help me, they just said open a case. I've opened a case, put my case forward and they just respond with "hi".
