Chipped windscreen

Driving on the motorway yesterday a stone flicked up and hit my windscreen. It left a tiny little chip which is barely noticable on the lower half of the passenger side.
Do I need to get it repaired? My husband says it's nothing but I've read that even a tiny chip can get worse.

Depends how "tiny" it is and how deep it is. I've seen plenty a small chip developing into a full blown crack before now.0

No bigger than a grain of rice and you can only just feel it if you run your fingernail over it.0

I have a tiny chip on mine, as it is a heated screen I haven't had it repaired in case it stopped the screen working.Been like it for months now, no guarantee it wont develop into a crack in the future though.0

Check your motor insurance policy, if the chip is so small it can be "smart repaired" it won't cost you anything.

I would be tempted to leave it and just keep an eye on it in case it gets worse.

I had one about 2 mm and not deep - a windscreen repair chap said it was too small to fill properly. 2.5 years later I sold the car and it was still the same

I would would leave it and monitor. I have had probably hundreds of small chips over the years and it’s rare for them to get bigger. On the other hand if you get a chip which starts a crack immediately then that is likely to get bigger. I have lost count how many windscreens I have had replaced over the years...2 in the last 10 months.0

Yes get it repaired or windscreen replaced as it depends on size and shape. I had a chip and by the time arrangements were made, the windscreen had to be replaced due to the shape and size.
