Hi, I got the same email with the same type of offers, this is for flights only, as I only booked flights with them. I chose the Airline refund even though lastminute reduced the refund amount by charging handling fees... I think it's the best chance of getting a cash refund and if airlines are not offering the cash, then I'd rather have a voucher from the airline directly.
I don't want any vouchers from lastminute as I doubt we will go on holiday anytime soon and I've learned my lesson with lastminute.. will never book with them again.
Just one word of caution, once you choose one of the 3 options, you cannot change it. If you take the Travel credit option though, apparently you can change your mind later to request cash (read the T&Cs), but you will need to wait something like 6 months and pay a handling fee for changing your mind, so you won't get all your money back anyway.0 -
Yes, we got the same.I was seriously considering taking up their voucher offer until I saw the borderline fraudulent cash refund “option” with c.£40 deduction into the fund of lastminute.com aka handling fee.I just ignored their forced on “options” and claimed through my credit card. That’s absolute nonsense about their “handling fee”. I paid THEM for the service they failed to deliver. So they must refund in full and not be playing games.Really disgusted with their attitude and unlikely to use them in the future0

I I have received similar a credit for flights mine actually didn’t say what the refund from the airline would be. I chose the credit as it was more and if I rebook flights for next year and they are cheaper than my credit, I will request the cash refund which is after 6 months!0

@partyqueen if you request a cash refund after 6 months lastminute will deduct handling fees and also the T&Cs say you won't get the extra amount (they will deduct whatever % they added on top to lure people into getting the travel credit).
That handling fee is awful, but if I get the cash from the airlines I guess I'll accept it as a coronavirus-related loss... or perhaps travel insurance can cover it under incidentals.

I was due to be flying out of the country today for a break but obviously with the current state of affairs that is not going ahead. Booked flight and hotel package through Lastminute.com, paid all upfront in full via DEBIT CARD online. They are now offering me a voucher for the full amount paid to use on their website within 12 months. They are saying this could take up to 8 weeks to process and get to me but what I want to know is...am I entitled to a full refund via the method I originally paid?
The lady I spoke to on their customer services phone line stated they have been told (government guidelines) that vouchers are their *only* way of refunding due to the volume of refunds they are dealing with? Not sure how true this is and would appreciate any help incase I can just get my money back. Many thanks in advance!0 -
Have a look at the threads on here....literally hundreds of them. You're not alone.
Short answer: yes you're entitled to a refund but doubt you will get one anytime soon.2 -
Help!!
Me and my friend were due to go on holiday to Amsterdam back in mid March. However due to the coronavirus we didn’t go. Our flights with KLM were still going ahead, however we choose not to go as Amsterdam was on lockdown and we were advised only essential travel.
We were wondering if there is anyway to get our money back. We have tried through the travel insurance but as the flights were still going ahead and it was our choice not to go we wont be able to get our money back.
Would we be able to get our money back through the credit card company that we brought the holiday with? If so, do you have any information as to how I go about that.
Our holiday was a package holiday with lastminute.com and all paid for with one payment on a credit card.

We are in same situation. Meant to go to Rome in March. All obviously cancelled. Cant get through to anyone. Flights were with Ryanair. .. did ring them and they said they would refund no problem.. but when they went to do it... lastminute had paid for flights... so the refund would be to lastminute not me. ie have to do with travel agent..lastminute.
Email from lastminute to say they were giving me a voucher. Don't want voucher. IMPOSSIBLE TO SPEAK TO ANYONE AT LASTMINUTE.
At a loss what to do. Holiday was for significant amount of money and don't want to loose it 😒0
