KLM refund voucher

Tried to cancel but instead they have booked us an alternative flight (for a week later) and offered the voucher option to use within 12 months. No intention of travelling so any advice on best approach would be appreciated. Surely there must be another option other than taking the voucher?

I haven't read through all of the posts but didn't want to duplicate. Was due to fly this week with KLM to Stockholm. Had no communication from them to say the flight had been cancelled. I looked online a few weeks ago and saw that it had been. Managed to get through on the phone and told they are not offering refunds, only vouchers. Said they were looking to start offering cash refunds due to amount of customer complaints and to keep an eye on the website. Looked this week and it's only for flights cancelled after 15th May. Most would have been cancelled well before that. I'm trying to get money back through chargeback but worried I won''t be able to. Nationwide are asking for 'official' confirmation of the cancellation but all I have are screenshots from the website as KLM never made contact with me.
They are blatantly flouting the law and providing really bad customer service at the same time. Interested they're not being mentioned more in the lists of poor airline practices around refunds.0 -

If you can show someway your flight is cancelled that should be good enough to raise a Chargeback.
KLM can contest the Chargeback (with evidence).
Even a webpage should do, as if it wrong, KLM can supply the correct info.

What's the next step / how do I raise a chargeback?Raise a "Chargeback" with your card company against the transaction stating non-supply of service, (using proof of cancellation) also state that you have rejected any vouchers that you are entitled to do under English law
Normally with a Chargeback the money is returned once it’s processedKLM can dispute the Chargeback, but it must supply evidence to the card company.
If KLM is successful, then the Chargeback is reversed and the money taken back from your account
If that fails then it's a Section 75 on the credit card.
