Section 75 protection denied for Laura Ashley purchases on Laura Ashley MasterCard

I ordered sofas from Laura Ashley and paid in full on ordering with a Laura Ashley MasterCard credit card. Now the company is in administration I am not likely to receive the sofas. New Day Limited who run the card have advised that there is no S75 protection for purchases made from Laura Ashley although I would be protected for purchases from other suppliers. Is this correct? I can see no warnings on the internet anywhere (including money saving expert) about losing S75 protection when using MasterCards badged with a store.

First of all you need to ascertain whether you will receive your goods or not - contact the administrators and ask them. When they confirm (more likely than not) that you will not be getting the sofa - get back to the credit card armed with your evidence.

If the Administrators are still delivering ordered products to customers then wait for the delivery. You'll need to contact the Administrator though.
Perhaps the Administrators have advised NewDay that orders will be honoured hence the refusal of S75....

Thanks @penners324 but we have recently been advised we won't receive our goods...do you know if that means we will be able to claim on S75? When I spoke with them this morning I was advised that because it's a Laura Ashley card, and it's in liquidation there may be different rules that apply and therefore we may not get our money back😱😱😱
  • S75 is there for exactly this situation ie you pay for goods and don't get them because the company is in liquidation.

    Claim under S75.

Pretty sure there was another Laura Ashley card/order thread in the last few days where the poster got their money back successfully
  • Amazing 👍 thank you both so much for your help!
  • I have been advised by Newday that Section 75 claims do not apply to goods bought as gifts, is this correct? Seems like Section 75 doesn't really offer much protection after all!
