Child ISA Parent won't give bank details to child who is now an adult

Hi All
The scenario is that the child savings account was set up when the adult was a child. The child is now 27 and wants to view the account. The lender is Halifax but does not have any further account details. The bank is saying that they have identified the account but will not release the details unless the original parent is in attendance. But the original parent isn't releasing the details. Any idea how to get around this problem?
Thanks

Raise a formal complaint and make a Subject Access Request of the bank under the Data Protection Act.
Edit: If this isn't an ISA as you indicated in the thread title (or a Child Trust Fund which was available before that), then the above does not apply.

Are you sure that this is a JISA? The account was introduced in November 2011 and would only have been available to under 18s.

When the child reaches 18 the account matures to an adult cash ISA where the child can continue to save tax free.
The adult contact has no say on whether the child can have access at age 18.

The 'child' talks to the adult and tries to get the details or a reason why they won't release them.

The 'child' won't have an ISA, as the child is now 27, they weren't available when the child was a child.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?
