Virgin Media Sports package

I have a Virgin media full package included in which is the Sky Sports and BT Sports options on TV. As there is currently no Sport due to Covid-19, I contend that Virgin are technically, although understandably in breach of contract for not supplying this. At the time of writing, unlike Sky Sports, they are not offering any price reductions or the option to suspend this element of the service until normal service is resumed.Surely it can't be legal to charge customers for a service they are incapable of providing?

I guess, as Sky have offered the chance to suspend then Virgin have no reason not to offer the same deal. I'm in the same position and tried to contact them, spending an hour yesterday and 1.5 hours today waiting for them to answer the call with no luck. How do you get in touch with them?0

"How do you get in touch with them?"
Good question. I haven't been able to get through to them either yet0 -
Staff off probably only essential services like keeping the network working at present .

They have added on line that call centre staff have reduced. Very understandable. I have spent hours waiting for an answer to a call, including today, no message saying there will be no answer, just says it may take a little longer. I also want to cancel sky sports and add movies. Not sure why you cannot do it online. Sky have made it easy to cancel sports. I am presuming they will wave charges for BT Sports but not holding my breath.0

Managed to get them on their chat although it seems the operator must have been talking to numerous customers as it took ages for each response to any post I made. My sports package is linked to Sky movies and it seems that if I cancelled Sport I would have to cancel the whole package plus HD and go on a thing called Maxit TV. I asked what Maxit was but never received a response and so I just gave up. But looking on other sites it seems it is not worth it as it is more expensive and doesn't include fast broadband. Anyway the long and short of it is Virgin do not seem to be allowing the cancellation of just Sport, as Sky are doing, even though the service is not being provided.0

Sorry - I don't buy this for a second. I don't have Sky Movies but just Sky Sports (see above) and to me it's a very deceitful way of profiteering. Also, I'm not seeking to cancel Sky Sports just stop paying for it while they can't transmit it.0 -
It looks like Virgin are now allowing customers to pause their Sky Sports subscription.

I was going to be cheeky and see if I can get a deal with Virgin mid contract to upgrade my package.0

Hi AllJust received my VM bill dated 30 April and noted that the sports package paused payment was "unpaused" as the previous month's paused credit was not showing. Rang them and managed to get this rectified; so please check your bills before the DD is taken. Chap I spoke to waffled on something about bill being produced before the pause is credited to account blah blah blah...0
