Singapore Air - cancelled flights, no refunds!?

Hi all,
Sorry if this question has been asked before. Singapore Airlines have cancelled all flights from London to Singapore and we had quite expensive tickets. They have told us they are offering NO refunds, however we can choose to travel again before the end of March (however we have to pay the flight differences).
We cannot travel in the winter months due to other arrangements so we cannot rebook to go to Singapore Airlines.
Does this mean we have lost our money effectively?
Thanks in advanced

I have the same issue with Singapore Airlines. My flights have been cancelled and when I try to request a refund via their 'Assistance Form' (surely a misnomer) and take the 'Other Option' to make a request for a full refund it does not let you enter your request text - now how sneaky is that!!! This is contrary to EU Regulations EU261 explained so clearly on Moneysavingexpert site. Clearly it will take hours waiting on hold to contact them by phone - any suggestions?

Really struggling to be honest, impossible to get through to them. I have contacted my bank to do a chargeback for me. I can't be bothered to deal with Singapore Air anymore. EU261 rules won't apply to Singapore Airlines right?
Hopefully the bank can sort it out.0 -
Thanks Caz3121. Do you know how to go about claiming this against Singapore Airlines then? Would it only apply to the flight from UK and not the return flight?
Thanks

An update - I've realised that if your text includes the £ sign it is considered invalid so not so sneaky but they should really just provide a simple way of claiming a refund e.g a clear refund option. Good luck to us both!0

Thanks, I have done the same thing now and asked for a full refund. They will definitely swerve it though. I'm just wondering how we go about this after they say no...0

same situation here - my flights with them were booked via Travel Republic but I paid £159 for our family of 4 to be seated together which I have asked for a refund for - haven't heard a word from them - like you Watford Roy the text box caught me out too with a £ sign!
would this be a potential chargeback situation if they won't refund ?0 -
My situation is slightly different.
I was in Japan and due to fly home with Asiana but that flight was cancelled. So I rebooked with Singapore Airlines. 5 days later the airline cancelled that flight so I had to book yet another flight.
Singapore Air have agreed to refund the ticket price but they say it will take 3 to 4 months to process this.
I am also trying to get my money back from Asiana / Expedia, with neither of them wanting to respond.,
Any suggestions on how to proceed? Should I file disputed transactions with the credit card company?
Thanks

If you booked an Asiana flight through Expedia, you need to deal with Expediaslb2020 said:I am also trying to get my money back from Asiana / Expedia, with neither of them wanting to respond.,
I doubt they don't 'want' to respond...probably due to the fact there are 1,000s of people to be dealt with and, in common with other travel companies they are struggling with the demand.0 -
Regulation EU261 has this get out:
- the cancellation was caused by extraordinary circumstances that could not have been avoided by any reasonable measure.
The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.0
