Finally a day off today!
I'm due to get married in May then go on honeymoon ..... the honeymoon definitely won't happen but I'm not sure about the wedding. It would break my heart for my parents not to be there.
I need some fresh air after working long days this past 10 or so days. But also must be alert as I could get called into work (challenging behaviour home) as they could go on lock down. I'm trying to stay away from the news as I have this constant unsettled feeling in my tummy.14 -

OH has just informed me that we are 8 days into our self isolation, apparently we have not been out apart from going into the garden since last Friday, not much a but a bit nearer the '84' we have been told to stay isolated for, so we are into the 70's already.
Parcel this morning from DD1, a patio rose and a box of choccies, nice thought, much appreciated. Will allow ourselves 1 choccy a night instead of eating them all in one go!!
Forecast was for sun, so far we have not seen any, very dark clouds scudding by. I was going to put a towel wash on, but will wait till tomorrow. I also have tea towels and cleaning cloths to do.
Kitchen is due for a clean this morning. I do the surfaces each night after the supper dishes have been cleared, need to focus on the floor.
Another call from the library, books have been coming in that we have requested, no way we can collect them, so they are being returned, I have a list so we can order them again later.
No fish tonight, we are having cauli and brocc bake with jacket spuds and baked tomato, save the fish for another day. I made creme caramel yesterday to use up some almost OFD cream, enough left for tonight.14 -
Morning all! sunny and windy here. It's seed sowing day today so I can sort through my packets after and see what's going in. It'll be mostly tomatoes today and a few chillies if the seeds are still viable. My foray into hot water crust pastry did not go well yesterday so I think I'll leave that for another time...The pie filling was nice though, ham, leek and cheese and I used up what was left in the cottage cheese in there too. Was lovely. Today is soup making. I made another apple cake yesterday and had that for breakfast. It comes from a book called How To Feed Your Family a Healthy Diet and I've had the book [ on the computer] for years. Lots of apples [ I bought a big bag of apples a few weeks ago from Lidls, impulse purchase but it's come in useful] and mixed spice...And uses sunflower oil instead of butter. We tried scrambled eggs yesterday using powdered egg, it was OK, basically the same as normal, so I know we can use that when we run out of eggs. Ohs dad was telling us how awful it was in the army, but powdered eggs have obviously moved on since then. I got them a few of weeks ago to try because basically, I could see the way the wind was blowing so was looking for alternatives that would keep.If things were normal I would be in Wales, as my auntie had a really bad fall and is in hospital but I can't go..Am miffed and worried about that but there's nothing I can do to change things. I hope my sister is taking all precautions because she is visiting and if she catches it, she will end up in hospital. She's keeping busy cooking for my cousin....And making food to take to the hospital for my auntie.I check online once a day to see the news, and am either heartened by peoples niceness or dismayed by their selfishness. That's enough of that for me, any more and I would just be spending my time being angry and generally hating people. I always used to tell my mother that hating someone was like taking poison yourself and expecting someone else to die from it, so I am trying to practice what I preached.....Glad to see we're all doing well, in the sense that no one has been hospitalised, so the worst has not come to anyone...Hey all reading along...Fine day Friday....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13

Morning all, just managed to delete most of my post grrr. Not that my news is very exciting anyway lol, but sorry people are having worries and woes. We're only watching the main news once a day now, it gets a bit overwhelming.Just bread rolls and a small pkt of handwipes unavailable when my usual sm delivery came yesterday, expected lots more things to be out of stock. Our local news reported a lot more footfall at the local market, some traders said it was busier than xmas eve. Our poor butcher put a plea for patience on his fb page, they're working all hours.Last day of school today for DGC, although DGD has been off all week anyway.Need to make a call to the library, I found I couldn't use my card online & sent an email, the lady wants me to ring.Chin up everyone xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. It was so lovely to be outside - it's a bright cold sunny day. There are lots of people 'taking the air' and many more are smiling and saying 'hello' as they go past.Marks wasn't too busy at all. I stocked up on fresh fish dishes for DM as she really enjoys them. My routine is to only take a shopping bag in and use that rather than a basket or trolley. That way I don't buy more than I can carry and I'm not faffing about with the basket etc.My cousin's daughter did get married in London the other day, only five people allowed, however they have taken a video of it which will get shared around the family.12

Miss Havisham reporting back. I have cleaned the kitchen so that's my one room a day done but I think I might up it to 2 today and do the lounge as well!
It was wishful thinking when I said maybe the panic buying is easing. DD was starting work at 7.00 a.m. and, ever hopeful, left at 6.15 to nip into Asda on her way. It was already rammed with folk with trolleys piled high, she said it was worse than Christmas. It's soul destroying for both the staff and those coming in later to find empty shelves yet again. I'm like TAFF now, I am finding myself hating all these greedy people, I too have now rationed myself with the news watching. I was tuned in to every broadcast on tv and radio and despairing of the future of the world but now I have limited myself to the daily update around 5.00 p,m from Boris. I tell myself it could be worse I could be listening to him t'other side of the pond!
Right on a brighter note, this isolating has it's advantages! I got on the scales earlier and I have lost 2 lbs since last weekend! It just shows what a difference healthy eating, no eating out or popping in a shop for a bar of choc here and there makes!! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning all, It's sunny but windy here too.Had a bad night last night, seems I'm on the sleep rollercoaster again. Never mind I can be in a vegetative state all day and Mr Fix It wouldn't notice anyway
. I didn't while away my waking time not being productive, as I've managed to get an online shop for the first week in April. I could not find one slot in Tes*o , my usual shop, before the 9th, but needs must so I have swapped my allegiance. I have also put in some items for Dad. On the subject of Dad, I rang him last night as I promised " every other at 7pm " and he's looking forward to going out next weekend when his self isolation ends. Nooooo!!! it's 4 weeks. Brick wall ! Thought I'd finally made a breakthrough, unfortunately he only hears what he wants to hear
We saw (whatsapped) DD yesterday and she is suffering with her throat, glands and a cough, but is home schooling our DGC, much to DGS dismay. However DGD is loving it, although I suspect she really wants to be the teacher and she wants me to do a sewing lesson with her, but that's going to be a bit difficult over the phone. DD and SiL have also put out on FaceB that they are available for free tutoring from Primary to Seniors, if anyone needs help. Fabulous, that's the spirit ! We also "spoke" to Jasper, his face was a picture as he couldn't work out where we were, but he could hear us. He looked at DD so confused !Nelski my BFF,glad your Mam is on board. I think the way he Dad is going I don't think he'll even make the charabanc bus stop ! Hope your body plays ball sooner rather than later.taff no need to say sorry to me. Hope your Dsis stays safe while hospital visiting.Gers sorry to hear that your relative has died, that's so sad.BellaB happy to hear that there will be a wedding. I'm sure you will all have a fab party eventually to celebrate and DD will have one heck of a story to tell her children/ DGC.dp1 I'm very sorry to read that the op has been cancelled. Hopefully it can be rearranged soon.TA I think you get more sense when you talk to yourself and I'm sure Sparkle listens to every wordSpecial hugs to you
Apologies brain fog has taken over and there were a few more I wished to mention. Hugs to each and every one.Take care and stay safe.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -

Afternoon,
It is one year today since I sold my mother's house . The time has gone very quickly even though the sadness will never go away.
Well mothers day this weekend will be a very different one. I cannot visit my mom as her Nursing Home is in Lockdown and my daughter will not come as she lives in London and is a nurse and does not want to bring us any unwanted presents.
I am off out now to treat myself to a Hyacinth plant. I love the smell of them. There are an mse plant to as the bulbs can be replanted for next year.
Have a good afternoon folks and take care x
